2026 Recruiting

This is huge news for UH on so many levels.

  • Gray is a bright young man with a big frame that translates to the NFL. Eman Naghavi has a lot to work with.
  • From Weatherford High School, UH continues to make recruiting inroads in North Texas.
  • At 6’7", Gray could walk on to the basketball team as a practice player and provide some girth for UH big men to go up against.
  • Rhett Gray has opened the door for all football players named Rhett to come to UH. Those players will not be the first, but they can follow in Rhett Gray’s footsteps.

UH is ranked #39 now on 247 sports. And 98% of the teams ahead of us have way more commits. :hugs:

If Herbert isn’t considered fast enough, his competition must be running in mud the way he runs away from them in his film. I saw one reference to his speed online-4.4.

Probably 4.5 which is fast enough.

Can’t wait to see what he does his senior year.

Seems more quick than fast and I’m good with that.

But…but…but…we don’t have NIL money…lol

We don’t. We’re selling them on coaching, development and connection to the city.

After watching Hebert’s HUDL highlight films, I’d say we should probably try and recruit a few of Jesuit’s linemen.

They opened some massive holes for him.

I’m guessing since we didn’t land Primus, we ended up sliding that money over to flip Rhett.

Any word on Lakeyleon? Also, since we have Hebert at RB, maybe that means Paris will be played more at WR?

I’m glad we landed another monster Offensive Linemen. We need some talented dudes up front to allow these electric players like Henderson, Warren, Melvin, and a bunch of others to do what they do best

Agree, this has been a major issue that has cost us dearly. We want a balanced offense? It is obvious that our OL has to dominate. We have to improve on our time of possession and these recruits point into that direction.

UH has three high school OL commitments, Pless, Gray, and Wolford. If UH can bring them along slowly and let them play when the coaches feel they are ready, we may have developed the secret to ongoing success. Imagine the strength of a UH team being the OL. I am hoping the OL turnaround starts this year.

Time is not on our side. We have to win big by next season. ASU got into the cfp. That is what we should aim for next season.
