2026 Recruiting

I know this is irrelevant in a lot of fans minds, but I think it is still relevant to UH being 2 years removed from G5 status.

This has to be UH’s best football recruiting ranking.

Don’t say that Ron. Some old guy is gonna get mad that you didn’t mention Yeoman’s classes from the 70s.

You can never ever ever ever say anything is the best on here if it didn’t occur 40 or 50 years ago.

Glad to see that UH getting up towards a top 25-30 ranked recruiting class.

For those of us that were around back in the 70’s when UH recruited on par with UT & ATM and at the Top 10 nationally, let’s hope that UH ultimately can back up to that level.

OH, are we supposed to apologize because some of us actually have followed Houston football for a long time and remember when Yeoman had top 10 in the country recruiting classes, SWC champion football teams and won new year’s day bowl games? This is just the beginning for CWF. A top 25 ranking is just the start for him. He likely will have his own top 10 caliber recruiting classes and Big 12 championships and new years day bowl games for Houston in the future…Because he is building a program. From top to bottom. Thats what winners do.

I think its fine for people to reference the Yeoman years & recruiting

30 yrs from now, some young UH fans will be hyping up some recruiting class in basketball. And ill be around (knock on wood), to say, not so fast. The Sampson 2025 class was better

Difference is there will be proof like the internet. :grinning:

With rankings & stuff.

Somewhat. Go back and look for articles from 2010 or before.

Some things do disappear on the internet

To their defense, UH Football golden era was in the 70’s.

Not rankings

I am happy our school has been impactful enough to have multiple golden eras :grinning:

A very inclusive and nonjudgmental post.

Dana had 5 classes.

What were his 5 rankings?

Lots of rumors swirling around UNC cutting ties with Belichick soon…

Hope we try to bring these two back to Houston.

Well maybe the truth hurts at times?
I love what Coach Fritz is bringing to the table but that doesn’t abolish history.

Nope! Yeoman had a couple of top
10s He did more with less though, recruiting the East Texas Bible Belt.

Why do you younger guys think the older guys are mad when they remind you of players and teams before your time. Most just want you to know some of our history and remember some of our great players of the past. When doing so, we aren’t disparaging any players of the present or recent past and we aren’t “mad” (or even angry for that matter).

This sentiment doesn’t come out of thin air. There have been several arguments started because some players of the past weren’t mentioned when the threads were talking about recent history.

I get what you’re saying though. A lot of those guys are legends for a reason

My only worry is that based on trajectory Willie is on, if he gets poached

Bonjour!

I’d rather our coaches get poached than fired.
