So the Big 12 invite gave us a pretty good boost to recruiting under Dana (you can sell big time football easier), but it still pails in comparison to what Willie is doing.

Fully expect the recruit ranking to go up with the inclusion of new recruits and jucos, there’s still a few guys we can squeeze in there. Overall, Willie has out recruited Dana with a much quicker turn around. Let’s see how he does after we start winning consistently, thinking perennial top 25?

From what I remember, Willie’s kids and grand kids are here. At his age, this may be his ideal gig. Might be one of the factors that went into him being hired. I’m sure Renu/Tilman didn’t want another Tom Herman situation.

HCWF is above all loyal. That is what makes who he is. This is why his players do not give up. Yes some people have values. He has a perfect opportunity to disturb the “establishment” That in itself will be historical. The more I think about it his approach reminds me of Mr. Yeoman.

I dont know what that is, but 3 different publications i have show him as a junior. Likely he is a 4th year junior, so a senior in classification, but still has another year of elegibility. We’ll see soon enough in spring.

I went to Texas Techs roster last yr. Merryman was listed as a Junior last season. All good though. Eligibility is weird with redshirts

I think we’re gonna be ok at RB. Burnette, Butler, Melvin, Hebert, and Sanford returning from injury will make for a pretty good RB room. I’d rather us focus strictly on OL, DL, and CB in the portal. We’ve recruited well at the TE, RB, & Safety positions, but that CB room needs an immediate infusion of talent for next year’s roster.

Good point. Im sure UH fans though, if Connors finishes with 1,000 yards rushing, will want a big name to fill that role.
Burnette, Butler good depth. Can either be RB1 in the Big12? Sanford, you hope returns to form
But I do agree with the NIL resources you have, the trenches are the priority. OL, DL and CB

I think Burnette or Butler, with an above average oline, will do nasty things to Big 12 defenses. I’m very high on both of those guys. Also, Paris Melvin is an ANIMAL!!

Right Melvin is a big time recruit. He probably is in the rotation next yr.
Willie likes RB depth. This yr with Sanford. We were gonna have 5 legit options at Running Back.
You lose Stacy Sneed & Dean Connors. And then Sanford returning from a knee injury. Its possible they add an RB for depth
