Hmmm, looking at all of the decor, one might suspect he will be announcing for UH. Oh, the suspense!
Sounds like an Ice Cube song…
Legacy signing ceremony is now at 3. There are 9 people signing and for some reason, they pushed it back.
But I pushed a 2pm meeting back to 3pm! ![]()
Lakeyleon Graves it is I guess ![]()
Hurry up!
I’m sneaking peeks at my phone at work for updates ![]()
I thought he signed with Texas St.?
He did
He signed with Texas State this morning
Hopefully it’s just logistics or getting more friends and family in the door
just ask them if they can prepone it
even our recruits are having attendance issues?
get Nunez on the phone now!
I like that idea!
Something I don’t think a lot of fans realize, is the spring transfer window is going away. The transfer portal is open the first half of January and that’s it. In the past, guys could compete in the spring and decide to transfer if it didn’t go well or if a new guy turned heads. Conner doesn’t have that luxury this year.
He has to decide right now if he wants to run the risk of losing out to the #1 recruit in the country and waste his final year of eligibility or go to another team with an easier path to play. And from what we’ve seen of QBs in the portal era, like 95% of the time, if they have NFL aspirations, they choose to portal out. I think that’s probably where he’s gonna end up.
Dang it. I didnt know he had signed yet
So, you think he’s going to waste his last year of eligibility learning a new system and new guys in a new place. Because that’s his ticket to the NFL? That’s amazing.
It’s worth pointing out that losing the starting job does not eliminate the possibility of making the NFL. Look at Kyle Allen.
You make it seem as if UH’s QB situation next year is routine. It’s not. It’s a unique, anomaly type of situation.
If it was any athlete other than Keisean (a 3 star or even 4 star QB) that was coming into the program, then all the arguments in this thread would be valid.
That’s not the case here. Keisean could literally go to any school he wants at this point, yet he’s choosing to come to UH. However, if you think that means he’s going to sit out without the chance to compete, then you’re naïve.
But that’s not even the predicament here. The predicament is if Connor Weigman is willing to risk his final year in a competition.
Experience alone is not going to win the battle. While Connor had a great year that resulted in a 9-3 record, he didn’t do enough that gurantees him to be QB1 next year should there be a competition. If Connor Weigman was the savior of the program going into 2026, then we wouldn’t even be having this conversation because he would already have draft stock.
Connor was a 5 star recruit out of HS. Yes. We know this. However, his career did it pan out like a typical 5 star QB. He had injuries (which some including myself believe he’s injured as we speak), and he has consistency issues.
Our program is not going to be successful with “a win is a win” strategy. Eventually, we need to start WINNING games.
Kyle Allen was at UH pre-Transfer Portal. The entire landscape was different and shouldn’t be compared.
Also - his first NFL job was really initiated due to him knowing someone on the Panthers staff. That got his foot in the door.
