It’s both. Israel has, for decades, systematically stolen land and murdered Palestinians. In many ways they set the stage for Hamas. Hamas IMO is still evil, needs to go and I’m glad they just killed another of their leaders. But, Israel has done horrible things too. And no Law, ancient scrolls from thousands of years ago do not justify the madness.

Here is a real story of rape and atrocities.

Listen systemic sexual assault and abuse of detainees is an all to common occurrence world wide. So it’s not surprising that it’s happening in Israel they are still populated by humans and there’s always a percentage of these types of a holes in a population and they ask seen to gravitate toward these positions of power over others.
The correct response is (even if like most countries there’s no real intent to do anything) “we take these reports very seriously and do not tolerate these actions. We will investigate and hold these people to account”

This is the textbook definition of a blood libel. It needs to be called out. This is no different than accusing Jews of making matzoh with the blood of Christian babies. So calling it out is truly the only correct response.
These lies that the NYT chose to publish was the true “what abiutism”. The only reason this piece was written was because of the 10/7 report that was published.
