There isn’t going to a 50 team P2.
That is just flat out factually inaccurate.
Then STOP saying the ACC will blow up…you are contradicting yourself.
Where do you think those ACC schools are going to go?
No I won’t, because it will.
But as I said, when it does, no more than four of those teams will go to the P2.
NO P2 will have more than 21, and the Big 12 no more than 22.
That leaves a forty-ish team P2 and a sixty-ish team P3 with NO breakaway.
The ACC gets relegated to non-power at least money-wise.
Downtown Detroit and the surrounding neighborhoods are great. Highly underrated city.
That’s EXACTLY the scenario I’ve been talking about!
48 IS Forty-ish and I never advocated a formal P2 breakaway…it will be an unofficial breakaway as the divide will be OBVIOUS…it will be Grand Canyon wide between the P2 and whatever the Big12/ACC leftovers + G# patch together in terms of $$, matchups, facilities, and quality
I’ll be damned if I let that happen. It’s Galveston or bust!!!
“Prime” was by far the most annoying word to read on this forum last year. “P2” is hard charging out of the gate to take the win in 2024.
Still early though.
That’s like saying a piece of candy with hair and lent covering the outside tastes good.
Detroit doesn’t even have a grocery store unless something has changed in the last few years.
For me it is "FSU found a way out of the ACC GOR " because obviously, they’ve been grasping at straws for years now
I think they are 99% of the way there.
J/k. I have no idea.
You simply can’t ignore basketball being 20% of the revenue in the TV money. I heard what Sankey said the other day and there was nothing damning about it.
This is like a business reorg. There is some chaos right now. I think there needs to be tighter rules on the portal and portal windows and NIL. We’ll get to a solid structure at some point, but it’s going to take an another couple years.
My wife is headed to Ann Arbor for her consulting gig later this month. Says the company is a block away from campus. I told her she should tour it and grab the older kids some UM gear. I’m all for getting their minds wrapped around attending college (and away from home). I’d be geeked if they went to UH, but I want them to experience the traditional college life and town if the opportunity presents itself.
So this is obviously about feeling inferior. “Ohh no we have to compete with less”, like we’ve done our entire history.
UH football isnt going anywhere and neither are our pessimistic fans
If you’re always looking for something to worry about, you’ll find it.
It’s a shame on the latter
No but college football in general is a mess
It has been a mess since the poll system, flawed bowl system, behind the scenes politics, and voting committee.
As long as those 4 exist all at the same time, there will never be a true postseason championship like college basketball.
At least we are in the right direction with a 12 team playoff.
The problem with Detroit is there’s an oasis. Fox Theater district where you’ve got your major sports arena and south towards the Ren Cen. Yes, there’s the New Center area and other areas. Detroit to its credit, is always trying to make itself better and it has. But it’s a long process. If it’s not for a sporting event, I stay up here in Oakland County.
Having worked in AA at UM, I don’t consider it a true college town in the sense where it’s the university and nothing else. AA is a nice town with a lot to offer.
Must be via the interstate system. Having flown from Detroit to both, the FF miles were about the same. I-75 does some serious zig-zagging through Tennessee, Until I-69 is done, driving will always be longer.
