Bobby Valentine could have given him a couple pointers on a better disguise.
That guy is a serious PAC10 lover and is trying to stir up crap about the Big12. Most people on Twitter do not believe him since it makes no sense and the TV networks are not giving us any money for G5s.
Of course all G5s have had talks with the Big12 but Clownzano wants to single out Fresno State sense the PAC10 was dragged through the mud for seriously considering SMU.
I wouldnât say the AZ schools think theyâre above the B12, but Oregon/Washington are pretty much what keeps the PAC12 alive and make it unnecessary for the four corners to go anywhere
Ultimately itâs a three-lane dragrace here
-
Washington/Oregon obviously want to be in the B1G. If this happens, then the PAC is dead. SDSU/SMU wonât save it at that point.
-
Yormark is trying to do all possible to convince the four corners to join the B12 before anything else happens, but again, at this point itâs probably not worth it until #1 happens. However, itâs not impossible
-
PAC are (if rumors are true) actively negotiating or talking to SDSU/SMU to makeup for USC/UCLA and adding a new market in Texas. However, Iâm not sure how this would stop any teams from leaving until all signed a new dotted line
Youâre correct.
The Big12 isnât looking at Fresno state. Thatâs pac12 propaganda.
The new media contract states that ESPN will only pay for expansion of P5 teams, not for G5 teams.
This is why any news of the Big12 taking Fresno, SDSU or any other G5 school is pure BS and coming from Pac12 sources.
The rumor is that the Pac12 is waging a messaging war trying to paint the Big12 as a lesser conference so that Pac12 schools donât sully their reputations by changing conferences.
Itâs happening on Twitter as we speak.
Manny you are correct. They donât have the economic power so they are waging a propaganda war.
They are losing.
The Arizona schools are coming, would Colorado and Utah balk because they feel they are superior to the BYU and the flyover states? possibly. But in the end they only have one option and that is the Big 12.
Kliavkoff been lying to these schools from the get. Heâs like a fart in the wind, heâs all over the place
Then the B1G will âownâ the West Coast region the same way West Virginia âownsâ ACC Appalachian region for the Big 12âŠit does NOT!
They will be regional afterthoughts.
The states of Washington, Oregon, Arizona, Colorado, Utah and non-LA California will still be PAC CountryâŠnot B1G country.
Why would SeattleâŠor PhoenixâŠor San FranciscoâŠor DenverâŠor Salt Lake City care about a Rugers vs Indiana, or Northwestern vs Maryland Conference game?
NowâŠput more B1G schools in those states and those markets start having reasons to careâŠwhy? Because it DIRECTLY impacts the school in their state.
Caring = $$$.
The B1G will be an afterthought on the West Coast unless they add more inventory
GK should start attending Bama, Ohio St, Texas, and Georgia basketball games just to throw everyone off. The only problem is, he wouldnât be sitting in the ADâs box.
Exactly right. Not to mention if UCLA and USC are mediocre then you have absolutely no inventory. Then you have the travel issue with the non major sports.
The Big 10 is not stopping, the just donât want to be the one that is facing the lawsuit for interfering with a contract.
I suspect that the reason Big 12 is talking with Gonzaga, Fresno State and San Diego state is to make it appear they arenât just targeting the Pac 12 but are just interested in the time slot. Hey we were just looking for schools, the fact that the four corner schools made themselves available isnât on us.
Maybe theyâre waiting for the b12 to poach and then theyâll offer ouw
Whether they take one team, two teams, or four teams, if thereâs a case for interference then thereâs a case for interference. Which there doesnât seem to be since teams wouldnât join until after the current contract is over.
We do not want Fresno⊠and I would ignore Wash and Oregon if they are only expected to leave to B1G in the future⊠focus on 4 corners and building a long-term brand. Only consider SDSU if we can exclude Colorado.
Those who are 100% convinced the B1G is not going to expand furher west are not watching how the chess pieces are arranged on the board.
This is a methodical long game.
It took UT 11 years to angle its place in the SECâŠ
SDSU and SMU donât come close to making up for the losses of UCLA and USC.
With USC in football and UCLA in basketball, the B1G will never be an afterthought on the West Coast.
On the contrary. Thatâs all they need to be relevant there, hence no taking of Washington and Oregon.
My guess is that the B1G will go a few years with just UCLA/USC to see how it goes. After having their teams (including non-revenue) travel back and forth from the West Coast, theyâll realize itâs in their best interest to have a western wing of their conference, and extend further invites to UO, UDub - maybe others.
I donât think the B1G timeline is dependent on the B12 being able to flip a few P12 members. Theyâll do it when they are ready.
âIs SMU to the Pac-12 closer to 75% complete, or 100%? â @smu_football
Wilner: The former, for sure. The Pac-12 presidents have discussed adding two schools, four schools or zero schools but have not made a final decision.
SMU and San Diego State are believed to be atop the list, but at least two more are under consideration. (We cannot confirm their identities. Our only option is to speculate, and my hunch is Rice and Tulane)âŠâ
âEnough value to make it worthwhile for the 10 existing members?
Thatâs the key. The presidents are intrigued enough to have authorized the exploratory process â hence Commissioner George Kliavkoffâs visit to SMU last week â but thatâs far different from voting on membership.
Our current estimates:
No expansion: 50%
Two schools: 40%
Four schools: 10%â
Oh boy⊠it only gets even better⊠SMU, Rice and Tulane.

We will have 4 corners knocking on the door really soon!
It is quite amazing the schools being bandied right now for PAC 12. They really played their cards poorly throughout this whole realignment/media deal process. Now they are hoping to catch the inside straight on the riverâŠ
