Chris Cenac Jr

Roberts was 23 when he last played here. Cenac just turned 19. The one and done model doesn’t get the experience.

Hasn’t been here long, and probably won’t be here much longer. Still projected to make life-changing money in the first round of the NBA Draft.

Cenac first 18 games from 3, .385 15/39. That is through the ASU game
Last 10 games from 3 .270 10/37

3pt shooting from the team has really been an issue this season. Milos and Sharp are way down from what they shot last year.

I don’t think anybody has shot as well as they are capable of this year- but that could change. Hopefully pretty soon.

I don’t think he was coached to do that, but he can do it if he wants to.

I think that and one of the bench guys breaking out, is going to determine how far we go in the tournament this year. A good draw and shots falling can go a long way.

We could use a little help from McCarty and Harwell They BOTH could blow up pretty soon.

I really Chris, he is game and fights. A year in the weight room will do him a world of good.

Someone needs to check and see if jojo is okay.

While you’re joking, he has been hitting a lot of unders

We shouldn’t compare Cenac to Roberts. One guy is a 6 years senior and the other a true freshman. Cenac will be a different player if he’s staying few more years but he’s not. Moving forward, I hope we have a consistent interior scoring big every year. Yes I know, not easy to find one and very expensive. I knew very early in the season that we have no interior scoring at all. When we’re relying on Jojo to do that, I knew we were in trouble. We’re gonna live and die with our 3s in the tourney.

According to what the commentator said in our game versus Kansas, Milo’s Uzan has shot over 40% in big 12 play!

Man, you said it. It’s like comparing apples to oranges.

That is the entire key to this season.
We have Chris but are we better off than with Roberts?
Clearly they play at different positions. My question is why can’t Chris do both?
I am asking because we have no post up threat. Again at the same time we are currently 2nd in the BIG12 and ranked in the top five.
Are we in the business of grooming up a future nba player or winning a National Championship? I gotta ask.

They are in the business of using his talents best. If he could post up in practice he’d be posting up in games. Just because you are tall doesn’t mean you have the skill set to post up at this level. Maybe they have been working on it in practice and hope to get that out of him at some point. But if he was currently a real post up threat, they’d be utilizing that.

We don’t have much time for him to develop into a back to the basket post up center. If only he would be back next year; but, by all accounts he is going this year.

Then the idea was to have JoJo and Sakho to fill that role.
JoJo has been consistent at getting stupid fouls. He has yet to fill Roberts hightops. It is me not knowing enough but I still think Chris has it to at least be more helpful inside especially since the two others mentioned earlier are clearly not doing enough. But again and again our record speaks for itself.

at the end of the day he’s a freshman - you don’t know what you’ll get - freshman bigs at that

Cenac could be a beast if he added a low post game. The few times he’s taken it hard to the basket he looked unstoppable. It’s hard to guard guys that can play down low and step outside on the perimeter.

It’s very clear Cenac doesn’t like to play offense in the paint, It’s just not who he is. But the times he finds himself driving then tries to dipsy doodle it up there to avoid contact is maddening. Just go up strong and get the foul! I swear sometimes he has no idea he’s 6’11".
