If Indiana can do it, Houston sure can. I think we have the coach to do it too!
NIL helped tremendously at Indiana. Go Coogs! We have CWF and damn glad we do.
the other Big Ten and Top 25 teams donât have NIL also???
Few have an NIL sugar daddy that can match theirs.
Disagree, all the top schools have money to spend. Have to spend it the right way and still have a good staff
Another crazy stat I saw on Indiana they have 4 bowl wins in their entire history
Oregon, Indiana, and Tech all have sugar daddies that almost put them in a class by themselves.
In todayâs NIL era, as Iâve said before, you need one of two things in order to be highly successful, either:
a) a large and highly donative fan base; see UT, aTm, Ohio State, and Ole Miss, OR
b) a really big NIL sugar daddy in lieu of that, see Oregon, Indiana, and Tech.
We, unfortunately, currently have neither.
We make up for that with our inordinate strength in the transfer portal.
See my string to that effect.
Who is paying for our 5-star basketball players?
Indiana wasnât even top 10 in NIL. Thatâs really not how they built this machine. They probably l had the worst NIL of any of the P4 teams in the playoffs. Cignetti is just a tremendous talent evaluator and a helluva coach.
Why are you making things up?
For reference. Houston had a transfer class 2 spots lower than IU.
IUâs composite ranking for their recruiting class last year was 49.
Compare that to the last two teams they have played.
Ohio State - number 5
Alabama - number 4
Stop talking about NIL sugar daddies. Cig is an elite evaluator. And a hell of a coach.

We are blessed to have 2 such leaders, Coach Fritz and Coach Sampson
As itâs been proven countless times, $$$ canât buy you culture and ChampionshipsâŠitâs not sustainable.
Coach Cignetti is a lion
Lee Corso earned their first win in 1979 as HC
Some people are incapable of giving credit to those they deem unworthy, so they make up lazy excuses for their success.
Iâm not.
Mark Cuban is a BIG TIME NIL sugar daddy for IU.
See here.
Where have YOU been, and why are you making things up to the contrary?
As for our strength in the transfer portal, these results speak for themselves.
What we lack in NIL, we make up for in transfer portal virtuosity.
Case closed.
NEXT!!!
Right so Cignetti already had them in the playoffs without a single dime from Cuban. Sure the money from Cuban helped but their roster still wasnât anywhere close to being the most expensive in the sport.
Still, like Oregon and Tech, they have a key ingredient that all the top contenders have in todayâs NIL era, which is either:
a) a large and highly donative fan base, OR b) a really big NIL sugar daddy.
We, unfortunately, have neither.
But we have inordinate strength in the transfer portal.
We have a good coach that knows how to recruit and for once doesnât seem to be an immediate threat to leave. I think the next few years are going to be pretty fun for us. Probably not as fun as theyâll be for Indiana but still really fun.
How much does Law think Cuban is giving the football team? lol.
