D’Eriq King

I wish King the best, but man, Florida State is not good.

Could have had three if Briles stayed…and this happens.

DK was only 1 year removed from knee injury last year. He was less mobile, and his throwing was off as a result of it.

This year his mobility has returned, probably due to more confidence in his knee. Lashlee is using that mobility to help him properly set his feet prior to passing. His throwing motion is improved, which has improved his accuracy.

Amazing what happens when you actually give the knee 2 years to properly heal.

No, it won’t. King couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn door last year.

I get upset at grown-up adult moneybag coaches lying and leaving then really anything a player might do to better themselves for whatever reason. Stings a little and you feel a bit jilted but… next man up. Coaches doing that can suck it and I have a hard time letting go of that.

So, King is fun to watch right now and i’m still wanting herman to lose every single week. There you have it.

This isn’t last year. If you think it wont bring Dana under scrutiny then you clearly dont know football

Dana has been under scrutiny since he signed with us. There is a certain group that just doesn’t like our coach whomever it is.

Mike, you’re right. I sometimes refer to these folks as the whiners.

When former coach Bill Yeoman said that being a Cougar was hard cheese, he was speaking to some of these same whiners.

Lol…I rest my case on his completion % between 10-40 yards. But keep living your delusion.

You’re the delusional one here considering your views on a lot of things.

King was never accurate passing while here. He was very mediocre at that.

I’m glad someone of y’all from the pollys bandwagon are coming around. Makes me proud!!!

Anywho I wish King the best vs Clemson. But we have ourselves a kid call Kopp who is looking like the best HS QB in Texas.

I think King is going to do well this year. He looks like a good fit in Lashlee’s system. Kopp does look good, but we don’t have him yet. Not until the AFAA and NLI are signed. We do have a Clayton Tune. He’s here and will be ready to air it out this year!

I’m going to assume Dennis Dodd has only been looking at scores and nothing else. There’s simply no objective way to look at what Ehlinger did against completely hapless defenses from UTEP and Texas Tech and conclude he’s a more likely Heisman candidate than King at this point in the season. FSU is bad, but they’re better than both teams UT has played so far this year.

Heisman, Smeisman…

If Clemson goes undefeated, Lawrence wins the Heisman.

It is his turn. !

I’ll be glad when the Heisman actually goes to the most outstanding football player each respective season than just awarded to the top quarterback or running back.
Last non-QB or RB to win the award was in 1997, Charles Woodson of Michigan as a DB and return specialist. Even though a good case was to be made that year for Tennessee QB Peyton Williams Manning.

Perhaps that was attributed bad coaching or pass blocking; otherwise, how do you explain his good passing stats now?

He either has developed into a better passer at Miami due to better coaching, better pass blocking or he worked hard in the off season. It’s also possible that Miami has better overall talent than he had here.

System comfort. Does everyone forgot that Case went through a period with Dana getting him to stop running from the pocket. That’s not a easy adjustment, and probably irked King who can do a lot of improv. Better fit in Miami makes everything look better.

I’ve heard sports radio guys say BO’B has spent the last few seasons turning Watson into Tom Savage. Maybe Dana/King was the same type situation.

BoB has managed to turn himself into Tom Savage and I’m not sure who should feel more insulted out of the two. :joy:
