Elephant in the room

Well, I didn’t realize that. Wow.

I guess we’ll need to draft a formal letter signed by all of us fans and message board posters to Tillman Fertitta requesting he either resign from the BOR or refrain from University decision making. If he fails to do so we will refuse any further donations. I would also recommend we add language demanding he stop using any political influence on behalf of UH for things such as conference invites.

I’ll get the letter going and post a link for us all to sign.

You’ll be wasting your time since most supporters have already voted with their pocketbook. Writing a letter, or even an email, is more work than simply choosing to spend a Friday, or Saturday. Night doing something else.

Boosters influencing Coaching hires worked well for Auburn…what? Wait!

It worked poorly at Texas too. I get your point.

TF is not just some “booster”. We are not a blue blood with a line of millionaire boosters either.

TF is the Chairman of the BOR and as such is expected to be involved in University decisions, including athletics. We are where we are because of small group of influential people advocating for (and spending on) UH

No, this is not TF using a Coogfans burner account… lol.

More revisionist history. King was in position to make plays. He consistently overthrew receivers. The receivers were open and the play was there to be made. His accuracy fell off a cliff.

UH basketball had sooooft schedules for awhile to build winning culture. Beat up bad teams to show a winning record and get better recruits. The difference is CKS can coach em up.

Boxing, MMA Managers do the samething you start your fighter out with cupcakes to build their skills and confidence…I have no problem with scheduling. I’m sure Dana and Pez schemed it out together. Problem I have is the God awful coaching and unprofessional behavior by the HC on the sidelines and in Presser’s

Anybody criticizing Tilman is possibly:

B. Need to check their stress level
C. Does not know who Tilman is
D. Thinks Tilman works in the HR
department
E. Is a troll

No way is this Tilman’s fault. On paper, it was a good hire. But we can sure blame Pez for the crazy extension.

Jeff Luhnow would awesome. He would be so creative with our move to the Big12.
P.S.- Many on here complain that they don’t want to give money to the program and invest in a bad product and fan experience. Couldn’t Tillman do the same? He could easily say, “I invested in all of this and they don’t even show up to the games. They complain about everything.” Tillman should not be getting any blame. That extension, though, was ridiculous.

King was responsible for 50 TDs the previous year. Then Dana wanted to make King fit his system. Why mess with what works.

Even the pro have a hard time running a pro style O. Only a handful do it at a high level. Pretty sure the Ravens are not trying to convert Lamar Jackson to a pure drop back guy after winning or competing for league MVP.
Have to do better with the talent you have.

At what other school does the Chairman of the BOR literally interview coaching candidates? That’s the AD’s domain, and at most schools the BOR’s involvement in coaching hires is limited to rubber stamping their contracts.

At Tilman’s level of involvement we may as well rename the school Fertitta University.

We’re small potatoes for Jeff Luhnow. He’s actively pursuing pro soccer franchise investments.

Well he owns a Mexican league team already.

And you know this how? I’d appreciate any deep insight you have into the inner workings and decision making processes at other FBS universities. Sarcasm aside - real insider information is always appreciated

Anyways… so what? An active BOR can be a good thing. We need active leaders at UH.

Remember when our Admin and BOR didn’t give a crap about athletics? I do.

I think it’s a bit different because he is mainly footing the bill for most of the athletics projects, is he not?

What Fertitta wants. Fertitta Gets.

People need to understand one thing about Tillman and UH, he loves this University, simple as that, and he loves Houston, and he understands the importance of this University to this city. You get your billions you spend it anyway you want and influence, anyway your money will allow you to.

The problem was the extension not the hire.

Yeah I agree 100 percent.

The Texans always reminded me of a rich dude who hires a contractor to do a job and then doesn’t pay him. When the contractor speaks up, the rich dude responds “So, what are you going to do about it? If you sue me, I have all the money in the world, and you don’t!”

UH better not go that route, or they are going to be in a for a rude awakening.
