Fertitta Center Experience

We are not pro sports and that is just it. There are too many entertainment option including pro sports in the City of Houston. Yes good UH sports programs are important but so is the game experience and this includes creating a better value with concession. If UH keeps treating game experiences like pro sports then we will never grow as big as we want to be especially in football. Unfortunately in Houston while the team on the field is and should be the most important, creating a sense to better entertainment value. Keep on making concession prices like the pro teams. Houstonians who are not passionate Coogs will pick going to pro sports over UH given concessions are similar priced and tickets to the Astros, Texans, and Rockets are not too high of a much a price point difference.

Scenario 1:
Beer in a plastic cup (the oceans need more plastic) $10. Cost of goods sold $9 ???. Profit $0 cause I’m not THAT thirsty.
Scenario 2:
16 oz beer in a recyclable aluminum can. $5. Cost of goods sold $1.50. Profit $3.50 or maybe $7 now that I can feel that I’m not getting ripped off and buy 2 beers. Maybe I’ll also spend some more money on a hot dog or some popcorn now that I have a beer to wash that down with. Hmmm…
I’m even ok with a 12 oz can.

The food options are fine, imo. I don’t expect to have unlimited choices.

But they could do what some other schools do and lower prices for early arrivals - like a happy hour that ends 20 minutes (or whatever) before tip. Make it easier for people to get there early and grab something to eat/drink before the game starts.

And there’s really no good excuse for the continued lame offerings in the team store. That’s just such an easy fix. They could also use some of that open space near the other entrance to set up a temporary booth to sell stuff, too.

I was at LaGuardia Airport recently and you know how much one beer costs, with tax? $28.00.

Beyond ridiculous.

Came here for this. They added some boutique restaurant options that are pretty good, but 5 small chicken tenders, a bag of kettle chips and a drink isn’t $25 worth of food.

the ROTC group that does the banner interference for the opposing team’s free throws needs some practice on how to hold the banners up straight and then move them back and forth, really looks terrible

Ben, I know that and replied in kind.

Anyone who is looking for low prices, or prices that compare to local restaurants, at any sporting event - college or pro - is going to be disappointed. BTW, the prices at UH events are moderate in comparison to the Texans and Astros. I don’t know about the Rockets because I don’t follow, or go to, pro basketball games.

Just for clarity, I’m not looking to reinvent the system here… Art Car was available last season. I enjoyed drinking them while watching great basketball.

No IPA in the club so far this year. The closest thing to that was a 12 ounce Cougar Paw.

It would be nice to have happy hour prices before tip-off. It might even encourage some of our fans to show up on time. Cincinnati and UT have happy hour prices.

We did that once last year with Patron and it seemed to be a hit.

I’m a little different. I don’t go to the game to eat or drink alcohol. I get there early, get my bottle of water, and go to my seat.

The gameday experience in there is second to none. I love the game and player intros. It’s head and shoulders above the experience at TDECU.

I’m with you Mark, except I get a red Poweraid and sometimes a hot dog.

Yes, I remember the long line for Patron. It might have been 2 games last year.

They should have alcohol/food happy hour specials for people who show up early. If UT can sell beer for $5, why cant we?

Art Car was available for the Jackson State game this season. Zero good reason for it to not be available game 2, but our inept concessions vendor did the exact same thing last season

And you people call yourselves Houstonians!?
Any serious Houston OG will have a flask in his boot and a pastrami samich tucked in the kangaroo pouch for safe keeping.
