Don’t understand why Fritz hired Barbay if he wanted to run pro style offense? Makes no sense. Was there really not anyone better available.
I think Barbay’s offense will cost us games we should have won. It will continue to happen throughout the season.
Hate to tell you all this but if you listen to Willie, what we saw vs. OU was pretty much what Willie has been telling us that we are going to do. We are not going to abandon the run to throw the ball all over the place. We are going to have growing pains developing a run first offense. Run second too.

The gang was ready to fire Fritz after one game and now ready to fire the OC after two games. Suggest we let the season play out. This season has from the beginning been a work in process, build the culture, and development during the season.

Yes! That is what a 5th year senior QB should get you.
Although not happy with many calls during the game, it was encouraging to see the altered overall game plan by the OC, that got the ball out much quicker.

Is Parker Jenkins out?
They said he moved down in the depth chart. Seems like he took a lot of hits last week at OU. If he isn’t injured then it’s kinda disappointing to see him regress. He was very exciting to watch last season.

Anyone else notice Coach Bell jumping Smith’s butt on multiple occasions tonight? I thought he was going to strangle him
after the under throw to #6 on the 2 point conversion.

I think 2012 was a beat down of Rice from what I remember but that was Levine’s first year.
I think DS isn’t a confident passer over 5 yards. Inthink that’s why he waits. I’m sure now that it’s not completely the OC’s fault. The OC put some wringles in the run game to compensate.

If you want to fire Barbay, you might was well fire Willie because I’m fairly sure this is what he is looking for. You want to open the offense some? Get a couple WRs with game breaking speed. Our wrs aren’t slow but they are the deep threat you want.

I wouldn’t go as far as to fire KB, but I would eliminate the pitches to the RB.
From what I have seen, the play calling wouldn’t “look” as bad, if the passes were delivered “better.”

Smith under threw several last night that made passing game look meh. I think he can be an accurate passer when he steps into throws but when he lets his mechanics slide and his accuracy isn’t good.

Seems like even the slightest pressure and he is throwing off the back foot or falling to the side. There was a screen (I think) to Sanford where the rush was still yards away. Smith panicked and threw it at Sanford’s feet. Could have been a decent gainer

I disagree. He threw downfield quite a bit in last year’s offense. Maybe he’s not a fit for this scheme the way some people thought King wasn’t a good fit in CDH’s scheme?
