I liked that. I think we should keep doing it.

We will need ALL of the players we have sooner or later.
I myself don’t like people dogging our players like its the end of the world and our season is over:
Players X can’t shoot, Player Y can’t rebound, Player Z makes dumb fouls, player A can’t run the offense… We don’t have this guy or that guy,
…blah blah blah.
It is the same BS every game and EVERY YEAR!.
That horse crap gets old in a hurry.
I am not so delusional that I expect 100% of our kids to play 100% perfect 100% of the time, but I damned sure don’t expect them to stink it up as bad as some folks like to look at it. Some of the stuff people say on here boggles my mind.
I fully expect this team to advance in the Dance.
This team looks like a typical Sampson team in early January.
Chill people

I think JoJo just needs to slow his brain down a beat and then make a strong move no matter what type of shot he takes. It seems like he is trying to go so fast he doesn’t have control of the ball or able to square up so then he just misses on shots close to the rim. Taking an extra tick should improve his control and draw more fouls.

Yes. It’s basically the opposite of our arena, which has a long, gradual slope. It’s very steep. It’s nice but I like ours better

Is Utah truly in the Big XII if they are playing under the delusion that they are B1G?

Early in the game we trailed by 8.

Late in the game we lead by 29.

That is an incredible 37 point swing!

If the description of JoJo’s hook is between “prayer” and “automatic”, I would say it is still closer to prayer than automatic. The most positive aspect of JoJo’s game is his improved FT shooting. JoJo is shooting 66.7% FT. Last year was 53.8%. If JoJo can hit 70%-75% of his FT this year, it may make a difference later this year between winning and losing.

Jo Jo’s hook looks great from about 4’ on in. Outside of that it drops off fast

If we can get him 4 or 5 shots within 5-7 feet like yesterday we are golden. There’s our inside game/easy buckets.

Here is a list, this season and the 5 previous (back to our 1st FF team under Sampson), where UH had a +25 or better discrepancy in FGA vs opponent FGA.

Year - Team - FGA difference - Opponents FGAs
2022 Northern Colorado +33, 39 FGA
2023 Jackson State +26, 40 FGA
2025 Kansas +26, 42 FGA
2026 AT Baylor +33, 41 FGA

Northern Colorado was 216 in KenPom.

It takes great rebounding effort and terrible shooting to make that happen.

And way more foul shots by our opponent.

Sorry but can you summarize your technical observations so that laymen can understand. Sorry but thanks!

laymen translation

a list of the times we had 25 more shots (fg attempts) than our opponent the last 5 years

in 2022 vs Northern Colorado we had 33 more shots than them, they had 39 FG Attempts
in 2023 vs Jackson State we had +26 more shots than them, they had 40 FG Attempts
in 2025 vs Kansas we had +26 more shots than them, they had 42 FG Attempts
in 2026 AT Baylor we had +33 more shots than them, they had 41 FG Attempts

the meaning of his post- to have that many more shot attempts than your oppoent you have to have a significantly high number of offensive rebounds and turnovers

his point is this is the most impressive combination rebounding/defensive game weve have in the last 5 years when you add the context of opponent and that its away…

Tugler is 100% better than he was 2 years ago. IMO, he’s one of the most improved players on this team. He’s playing faster on D without fouling as much as he used to, and when the other guys see him in the paint they go the other way. He DOES look awkward on offense sometimes but I think its because he’s trying so hard.

I think in the future we’ll look back at Tugler as an all time great coog and a hometown hero

He’s not close to his ceiling. Can’t wait to watch him bloom this year
