You are assuming the pitchers are throwing the pitches Maldi was calling for. They may have been attempting to but missing.
We canât win with our pitching staff giving up 11-12 runs a game. Our offense is good, but not that good to have to score 12-13 runs a game to win the ALCS.
When it was announced that McCullers would miss the ALCS I pretty much accepted that Boston would win. Now with additional injuries, our starting pitching is a mess, and of course that impacts the bullpen situation. We would have to score 15 runs a game to win at this point. Sometimes you get bad breaks; when they happen in the playoffs thereâs not much you can do. Still, it was another great year and a lot of fun to follow. Also, go Braves, beat LA.

Great summary. Your #1 is out , youâve got nothing from your #2 & #3 ⊠Case closed. It happens. RedSox can hit, it could have been JV & Cole going gm 1 & 2 n it still would have prob been 1 to 1 headed to Fenway Pakkk!

Zack Greinke is going to throw 7 shut out innings tonight. Hall of Fame careers always have moments like this and Zack Greinke is a hall of famer.

I like your enthusiasm. But whst you might not know or not want to take into account his arm is not built up enough to go 7 inns. Heâs pitched 21 & 40 pitches in 2 outings in last 4-5 weeks. This is not my opinion, he said this himself n hence why he suggested the bullpen might be best way to help the Team . Once he realized there wasnât enough time in reg season to get arm strength back up. Heâs 37-38, they arenât machines. Perfect case was Scherzer had no problem coming out the other nite bc he said his arm was dead after 60 pitches n he had already warned the coaches prior to going his last inn⊠which he couldnât finish. Ohh yea , heâs 37 also n just the 1 inn of relief he threw ( closed gm5 of SanFran series) btw starts was enough to throw his routine off.

I think the Astros are going with the seldom used Rope A Dope technique.
Get the Red Sox to score all their runs in Games 2 and 3, then itâs shutouts the rest of the way for the Strohâs pitching staff.
Canât wait to see the Red Sox fans cry over this.

He throws 75 mph so there isnât a lot of stress being created. He has one more Hall of Fame night in him, tonightâs that night.

Heâs on a 50-70 pc at best whether he throws he change up at 66 mph or his FB at 89 mph. If you follow baseball even a little coog51 you already know this.

I am a big baseball fan and I follow it closely. Zackâs fastball couldnât penetrate crape paper after the all star break.
But baseball history is full of great pitchers who were at their end that can will one last great game. I hope and think that is tonight. Who the hell knows Zack may serve up a few more grand slams.

Heâs definitely at the end of his career, esp when you have a resume such as his. Iâm one of his biggest supporters as far as Astros Starting pitchers. I thk he can actually have some success w the RedSox LH Hitters but when he gets hit hard, it can be tough on the eyes. Just need 1 WWWW tonight.
I am with you. If Zach gives us seven and we manage to win, we have a chance. If he is gone after 3, you can give the Sox the series. We have nothing left in the tank.

I agree w that , except the 777777 inn you keep mentioning. Hehe. You said u follow baseball very closely so on the avg a pitcher throws 15 pitches/inn ⊠thatâs what you shoot for . Sometimes on good night it can be in the 12-13 range. Other nights can be closer to 20/inn. So using common sense how do you expect him to go 7 inn tonight. 7 x 15 = 105. Beong honest, Iâm hoping for 4 inn â 1-2 runs n Iâd be very pleased w his outing. Trying to be realistic. Astros need to score min 5 but prob 6+ runs to Win tonight.

Plus Javier can give you 2-3 inn. You try to get 6 inn out of the 2 pitchers n no more than 2-3 runs. Then you combine Stanek , Graveman, Pressley for 3 or 3.1 inns rest of the way.
He can go 7. What would we be saving him
for. The bullpen needs a break. Help us Obe Zach Kanobe youâre are only hope.
