The AP had no one else to give the #5 ranking to so they gave it to us lol.
My take is the trip to Utah (the state) killed this team. Two high altitude games in 4 days and our team has not played or shot well since.

After dooming last night, I feel we all gotta take a step back and realize we have been spoiled.
The Big 12 is hard. March Madness is hard. Our guys are not gonna play for championships every year, yet some of us expect them to because Sampson and his crew are now victims of their own success. But the reality is that the other teams are trying to win too, and our teams will have worse years and better years.
All I know is that with Sampson we will always have a fighting chance and seeing us play in March every year is already a privilege. I don’t know how far we will get in March but it will be fun for sure.
The kids looked tired yesterday. I think some of us mistook that for a lack of fire, but they are simply out of gas. Hopefully they’ll get some rest this week so they can jump back on that horse.

Once again, you miss the point, but it’s pointless to try and talk sense into you. I’m passed that point of no return as well.
I have slept on it (not well). We are still a championship caliber team. We aren’t top tier ones like UM, UA, and Duke right now but many teams have a chance to go all the way this season. This year’s tournament won’t be as top heavy driven as last season’s.
My critiques on our offense still stands but we have to keep in mind that every team has glaring weaknesses.
It sucks we lost 3 in a row but all of them were to top 10 teams.
However, keep in mind that KU lost to WVU, Cincy, UCF etc. ISU lost to TCU and BYU. We didn’t. Many of you still consider them top notch.
We have things to fine tune and improve on and hopefully Sampson gets it done. But we are still a top notch team and can win it all.

At this rate we will all see each other again in 2055 when Kellen Sampson or Ryan Elvin take us to the championship and then lose in the last second lol.

our byu game was the best performance all year so im thinking the iowa state game has put us in a weird mental slump which isn’t a good look at least it means the rest of season is more salvageable than if we got figured out and teams know they can pin their ears back against us lol

Arizona, ISU play the same schedule and are playing consistently on offense and defense
Arizona found guys from other countries who emphasize ball movement and shooting instead of relying too much on athleticism or ISO ball.
Not withstanding Pesik’s diatribe, fact is we have been exposed this year for having no inside game, so defenses can pressure the guards.
Losing Roberts and Francis hurt.
But we knew it would.

Tugler has regressed in all areas except free throws. Sahko brings 0 to the offensive end. That is a coaching and recruiting problem. I know 7 footers are not a dime a dozen but ours do nothing offensively.
If there is one thing I know, there are areas that need to be fixed, mainly turnovers, and if there is one person who can do it, it would be our HOF CKS. We lost to worse teams last year and came within one shot of winning it all. He knows what is wrong and can fix it.
