If we trade for an SP and sign JV that would allow Nate Pearson to move to the pen.

He has been up to 104 before and consistently 99-100.

Add in the Rule 5 pick, Munoz who scouts say is primed for a breakout….to go along with our above average left handed posse and Abreu and Hader( hope they are not fibbing about his shoulder being good) for the 8th/9th and this could be a nasty BP.

I don’t believe any medical reports from the Astros that don’t mention TJS.

So they gave up melton, matthews, ullola, and walter for gore?

Seriously.

Ummm…no?

Who did they trade? I’m hearing that combination but nothing from espn

Well, I guess it was another screw job by the shantytown baseball posse. When did all these crackpot mlb sites crop up? I don’t remember all the fake ass insiders before. I don’t even want to read an article anymore.

The fake hot take crowd is annoying AF.

I would personally track down Dana and punch him in the face if that trade was made.

90% of what you read, even under “ Sports Illustrated “, etc. are guys sitting around making stuff up in their basement.

You think Dana trades THREE of our best trade pieces for this :joy:

Washington is looking for a sucker….and even if the guy was healthy, he is a Boras client and would be gone in two years.

These morons are not intelligent baseball minds……just hacks.

I was terrified when I saw that.

This really grinds my gears, too, because SI was the definitive sports resource back in the day, and they take advantage of that name brand despite totally lacking credibility for several years. The “Sports Illustrated” name needs a Viking burial, at this point.

Here’s what is infuriating. And this applies to hacks working for several outlets.

The headline is something like, “Mets look to offload Soto”

Then you start reading and it’s something like this…

“It’s been a disappointing final stretch and if the Mets want to improve they should consider…”

The f-ing Mets were considering squat. It was inside this hack’s feeble, little mind.

But like car insurance ads on youtube they can still get me from time to time.

Case in point this morning:

Is Newsweek even a serious news outlet anymore? Why do they allow their name to be associated with this?

But they’ve been “tabbed” :joy:.

BTW, think Breggy wished he had taken the 5 year $150M?

Boras is not the be all end all of agents anymore….he promises the world and the serves up sh-t sandwiches.

Pena and Brown will likely be gone because they chose him.

I think some players sign with Boras because they think organizations are intimidated by him. Speaking of Bregman, is the much anticipated D backs marriage about to happen?

I suspect that any AZ interest is mostly a Boras creation to again try to drive the market up.

Boras always floats these mystery team rumors out there to drive up the price on his clients.

Yes, but we’ve seen teams not falling for his game now….with less and less teams willing to give out bad long term contracts.

You see his clients having to settle for these one year deals….

I hope we get JV. That’s the feel good story we need

The Astros may stumble their way into being able to trade Walker to the Mets. They wouldn’t have to give up any prospects or be tied to a long-term deal, and they would get a solid bat and a great fielder.

C’mon DB - make it happen.
