Maldy’s ego is getting in the way of the big picture. What I just read on X about him is pretty astounding. A deal for Contreras last year was nixed because of him. They also didn’t make a deal this off-season because he refused to be a backup. This is amazing.

BUT I order all of you to watch “The Saint of Second Chances” on Netflix. It is about Bill and Mike Veeck. Mostly about Mike Veeck.

Seriously one of the best, funny, heartwarming documentaries I have ever seen. The fact that it is about baseball makes it perfect.

There is going to be a quiz on it next week, so I will know if you watched it.

The comments made after the game last night leads you to believe there is a problem in the clubhouse.

Also in the post game, the Astros studio announcer said something interesting. He said there is no energy in the dugout.

Yeah, the lineups this year, the commitment to resting, all have bugged the crap out of me.

Another thing that has bugged me is the number of minor ouchies that get players on the bench or the 10 day. You are professional ballplayers. You get tons of money. Yep over 162 games you are going to have some physical issues. Play through them.
