I believe in Coach Fritz

Don’t want to call anyone out. But not sure why we thought a guy in his sixth or seventh year would turn the corner this year with the same OL coach. Lol

The OL is atrocious. Life without Patrick Paul is going to suck.

Wouldn’t surprise me if UF go for him once they fire Napier. I’m sure other programs are monitoring him

Let’s hope hiring a G5 HC coach scared them off after Napier. But i think they’ll get Jamie and we’ll be stuck in purgatory for 3 years while Chadwell magically gets Florida to winning 9+ games year one.

You think a different coach would have this turned around in year 1?

I knew going in that this was going to be a rebuild year. If you think this coach was going to go in and become a 23-5 coach and win a NY6 bowl like he did at Tulane in his last 2 years, then your expectations are not realistic.
Fritz’s post game comments were way better than the last coach and he gives accurate details of what went wrong. Sampson had a losing season and went 13-19 in his first year. It takes time.

I do

I know it was garbage time, but Ale throws a very catchable ball.

Smith had a ton of swing passes out of the backfield where the receiver had to turn around and make the catch stopping his momentum. These would have been 7-10 yard gains instead of 2-3 yards if he leads the receiver correctly.

I will watch it again, but just felt like we never hit anyone in stride.

With NIL and the transfer portal, our rebuild is extremely challenging. Fritz has been able to win in places that haven’t won for a long time and turned them around. This job needs someone who has the experience in difficult rebuilds. He’s the right and only guy who can maximize a program like ours. The new AD plays a crucial part to raise the NIL we need so, we can get good transfers and high school recruits that will be retained. It’ll be a tough road but one that fans will need to support and be patient.

I agree. We need 2 to 3 easy ones then a required p4 middle of road vs an OU.

Other big12 and p4 teams play 2 cup cakes.

For sure NIL and transfer portal is a huge challenge. People don’t realize 2024 is a different beast in coaching a college team.

It’s not going to get easier if we go 0-11 or 1-10 this season. He is going to lose some of his best players to the portal and not have the NIL funds to replace. Incoming class won’t be ready either. Fritz has to outperform his resources here eventually. He can’t wait for NIL and talent parity with rest of B12.

I don’t think we have the resources even if we had the coach who is capable. We would have been able to keep the guys who left.

We have them. I think blaming talent is the go-to when coaching and preparation is lacking. We can go down every unit(except OL) and name good talent.

We have a talented WR or RB group? I think we have potential in both groups but nobody except Manjack and maybe Jenkins who has great college production so far

Lol yes and each one had plenty of offers!

Offers and actualization of the talent is different in my mind. Once you step on the field in college offers don’t matter but I could be wrong

You’re not wrong but at this point the coaches need to get the most out of what we have. Sneed for example. Why hasn’t he lined up in the slot and motioned. He’s probably a 4.4 guy. Toss him the ball and let him make a move in space.

We have two very athletic TEs…why weren’t they given delayed releases vs the pressure last night? Literally just watched Georgia Southern pull the TE trick play that Tulane used on us the year before last.

There’s talent. No excuses.

Ok yea that makes sense. I’m waiting to see how things look over the next few games but it’s going to be a rough year.

Applewhite not recruiting OL and Dana recruiting bad OL has come home to roost. I can’t believe how bad the OL is. Would we win the AAC with this OL?

Every time I see this I shake my head. This wasn’t a screen pass.

Yea our offensive line shouldn’t know the defensive line’s last names.

Eman needs to hit the road.
