Jimbo Fisher

Miss St was without their starting QB and WR. That’s why AM won by that margin.

We’d lose to back up QB

True. We lost to a 3rd string QB against Tulane last year.

I think A&M will owe Jim 76 mil. Wow.

And Herman outcoached him with half the roster talent. Jimbo is a clown.

Its gotta be a young hotshot. It is hard recruiting here.
And we need someone not mired in the context of it. A guy that doesn’t know its hard and moves right through it. Somebody that works hard and has a vision. Herman was like that. Someone that knows where he’s going. Give me a guy that wants to be HC at Notre Dame in 6 years.

Then go get another.

Lots of fences to mend in the recruiting front. Definitely need someone that has a plan to turn recruiting around and the desire to make it happen.

I mean Brian Hartline at OSU literally stated he wants to stay at a school till he wins a championship then go to the NFL. He has made his plans as a coach quite clear.

With his track record it should. I know he’s an easy target to hate on but he went 45-25 in his career at A&M. In the hardest conference in football. Let’s not forget he is 128-48 in his career. He’s 8-2 in bowl games. Finished in AP top 25 9 times out of his 14 years. 5 years in top 10. Can recruit his butt off. And let’s not forget he won national championship and had an undefeated season. I wouldn’t mind jumbo one bit.

Please do not compare this man to Dana he’s not even in the same galaxy.

i dont agree with this…winning at a&m is much tougher … Houston is essentially in the same situation as wvu was, i think our situation is way easier than theirs…the sec west is the top, it doesnt get higher ,to be the top you have to be better than multiple title contender yearly (exceed greatness)… your point is wvu is mediocre so being surrounded by other medicore is just as hard…and im sure a pivotable part of your point is that its hard to recruit at WVU from recruitng lands…

my counter to that is Alabama isnt great recruiting lands, and wvu was a regular top 15 team before dana (on multiple coaches), 3 years before dana wvu was 1 win away from a national title… major to dana is not a indication of our capabilities , i dont think holgs to neal is an indication for them either… its easier to win at WVU than at A&m in the sec west

perspective… everyone at wvu wanted him fired… he wasnt “trending up”…and the schedule difficulty plays a major role in why your flat schedule comp makes no sense. jimbo has the same amount of top 25 wins in his WORST year, that dana had in that 18-9 streak you mentioned

A&M is one of those places where it is really hard to win. Jimbo won a national championship at Florida State so I don’t think he suddenly became a bad coach by moving west to A&M. I’d say give him a shot. He doesn’t need the money, after all.

Not a fair comparison. Sumlin had a generational talent at quarterback at A&M, and here for that matter.

a good recruting base that would have shined anywhere but the sec west… and jimbo would have been 9-4 or 8-5 thisyear had he stayed the whole season… his average at his entire tenure at a&m … dana wasnt trending up, and jimbo wasnt trending down… they are firing jimbo becuase he has created a standrad of 8-5, 9-4 and cant crack the ceiling…a&m wants national titles and have seen enough to realize jimbo will not jump bama …

also i realize you like flat records with no context, when everyone sees the context… that last paragraph is nonsensical… you know the uneven scheduling gave us joke matchups… why are you pretending the context doesnt exist

“we had a our best conferenece run in 30 years”… “how would that stack up in sos” , “probably at the bottom, even c-usa 2.0 had tougher conference slates based on not avoiding the top teams”

Money is plentiful at A&M. Brains and good sense are not. If Dana gets canned it will be after his buyout trends down, sometime in January '24.

I’d have all kinds of :fire: in my belly with $70 million…

What pairs best with the dry-aged steak & lobster tail, garcôn?

76 million even if he gets another gig. Money isn’t an issue with Jimbo. I’d take him if he comes with his recruits.

Just a reminder that the SEC West is 2-4 against P5 this year.

We had A LOT of NFL PLAYERS on that 2015 team… Not really typical G5 talent…
