It’s possible for an Hall of Fame to have back to back great basketball teams. What should have been a National Championship this year. Next year could very well be the team to have 40+ wins. Especially if Milos comes back. No team in America will out talent or hustle the Coogs. But 2024-25 was Coach best team ever to date.

What we have missed is a killer shooter. Cryer was one, but he did meet expectations vs Florida.

We have to have a shooter that won’t miss when we gotta have it. Otis Birdsong, and many others, come to mind.

Maybe it will be Sharp. Maybe Pops. It must be someone. Then we win The Natty.

i can see 37-3 en route to a natty but 40-0 is a wild call considering the big 12 next year is gonna be miles better than the sec back in 2015 or wcc during covid lmao

Yea 40+ is pretty tough when the most you can play going all way to the CShip gm is 40. Just like this past year.

go big or go home GIF by Outback Steakhouse

I did not have UH beating Duke with just over 60 seconds to go in the game.

Cryer, Uzan, and Sharp all shot at an elite level - not sure if we will ever replicate it. They all missed some catch and shoot gimmes but also made a bunch of hard iso shots too. At the end of the day, they were all above 40% 3pt shooting
I think some of our post ups would have been better traded for iso 3s by our guards.

When Houston lost to San Diego State I believe it was one more game to play. But your right conference play is no longer 20. Nobody believed Houston would lose 1 game isn’t conference. So it’s about time to stop doubting what rarely been done. Coogs got the best Coach in college basketball with the best supporting staff. No team will out talent nor hustle Houston next season. People do not realize how elite those freshman are as well. Most are not used to seeing multiple first rounds picks on the same roster. Even the second unit have draft prospect.

Might be best talent since 1983-84.

You can’t have 40+ wins. 40-0 would be an undefeated season. And we won’t do that nor should anyone expect to. Winning a title, repeating again in the B12, etc is all possible.

No the only thing people doubted was your claim that we would easily go undefeated. That was proven wrong 2 games into the season. This season try lying off the predictions.

Got to raise the bar. 30 win seasons are now the norm. Time to get that 40 win season
 or bust right?

I don’t care if we lose 12 if we just win the last one for the Natty!!

So far the 2024-25 team was his best team ever.

Is it his best team because he finally got talent or just a special group? Has he ever recruited highly touted prospects in his career? Next year’s team could be better.

But next year’s “talented” team will be quite a bit of freshmen.
Usually the inexperienced bigs can contribute faster than the inexperienced smalls.

Is it too hard to believe Coach has future NBA All-star caliber freshman coming in. Those type catch on faster than most. Which is why they are rated so high and playing on USA basketball teams. Plus they chose Houston aka as Hard U. From following this class they are special. Coogs have bonafide lottery picks coming in. Literally Coach has the most talented roster in the country.

24-25 is Sampson’s best team ever by the details of making it to the national championship game. Surpassing the previous achievement of the Final Four. And arguably in the greatest Houston ever conversation with our 2 national title runner up teams.

Next year’s team is going to be arguably the most physically talented team we’ve ever had especially in the freshmen ranks. However they cannot be the stand alone best team ever unless they win the whole thing. Depending on where the session goes they could very well clear that threshold, or fall in with the other really good teams CKS has had.

I’m all for letting actions determine who the best team is. Once people proclam something the best before the work is done, I’m sure the opposite will happen. I still blame Sam Khan for putting out a Best UH team ever article before the Southern Miss championship game in football. I felt good about beating Duke this year because the gushing over Duke had gotten too big before the game. Why the need to proclaim a team the greatest before they pull off the deed is beyond me
