Latest Bowl Projections

Some early speculation is the POP TARTS bowl against 6-1 Virginia. Thats sounds like a good match against a team doing similar to us. Nice match up.

I’d go to the Pop Tarts Bowl just for the merch.

Liberty is cool….Beale street is fun and I’ve always been an Elvis and Johnny Cash fan….so Graceland and Sun Studio are interesting….especially Sun when you go into where they record….you even see the holes in the tile from the standing bases.

It is surreal.

I know it’s not “sexy” but I’d be just fine with the Texas Bowl. A Saturday evening game packed with Cougar fans! That after an afternoon of tailgating with a lot full of Coog fans!

Another upside to the Liberty Bowl is the game is on Friday the 2nd of January, and with Thursday the 1st being a holiday it makes for an easy 4-5 day weekend for a roadtrip.

I’ve reached the point that I will attend bowl games that are south of I-10 or have a dome. Anything in California also qualifies

This thread brought back memories of going to the Liberty Bowl vs. Syracuse (quarterbacked by Donovan McNabb). Had a great time in Memphis. Ribs at Rendezvous. Weather was good. Team stayed at the Peabody Hotel downtown. Great bowl experience.

And we wouldn’t have been in the national championship game except for what happened in the Duke game.

I’d also take the Liberty Bowl, if only for the excuse to stay in the Bass Pro Shops Pyramid. Really, I might go to any bowl in the Big 12 lineup, though the Independence Bowl and the Rate Bowl are less likely.

The Bowl at NRG is a sterile atmosphere, better than nothing but there’s nothing about NRG that’s inviting.

We have not been to Liberty Bowl since 2006.

Went that year and had a great time. Beale Street is fun, as is the Parade down Beale Street.

Would do that again.

I’ve had enough “warm climate” games; I want real football weather. 30s-40s would work for me, but I would prefer it not to rain.

Brrr…we will agree to disagree my friend. I live south of I-10 for a reason. LOL

College Football Playoff and Bowl Projections After Week 9: Oregon’s Résumé Discussion

A dry 30s or 40s game would be great, that wet 20’s Armed Forces Bowl where we came back was miserable until the drive back and it sank in what had just happened. Same with the Frozen tundra in Shreveport. Pure misery for 3-1/2 quarters. I think the high that day was 7.

I was at both of those games and the colder but dry Independence Bowl felt worse than the Armed Forces Bowl. The AFB was one of only a few my bride would attend.

That’s an awesome jacket your wife has on. Great design & it even has the retro UH logo…looks cool :sunglasses:

I bought the one she was wearing years ago and the one I’m wearing a couple of years later. It just hasn’t been cold enough at most of our games for me to have a chance to wear them. I have probably worn one of them once a year.

Linda usually won’t go to a game unless the weather is nice or it’s indoors. She only went to that one because we had scheduled it with a couple of our friends. As it was, she spent most of the 2nd hallf in the ladies room staying warm and out of the rain.

UH vs UT in the Texas bowl is my first choice and UH vs USC in the Alamo bowl would be my second choice.

UH at A&M in the first round of the CFP is my 1st choice
