LSU girls basketball team misses National anthem

Some of you are bringing race into this. I wonder why. Why do you have to bring up race?
Again I wonder why…Hummm I think I know the answer.
The US Women soccer team did the exact same thing…yes boys and girls I pointed it too. Now it is your choice to respect the National anthem or not. But peuleaaase don’t bring race into this. It soils your argument.

That is interesting. Is Iowa an exception? Really I would like to know. Another interesting fact. The ncaa type system is unique to America. European pro clubs do not play their National anthem. National Teams do and that is valid for all sports.

UH football & basketball come out after the national anthem

Thank you for the info. Was that always the case?

No idea. Noticed after the NFL & kneeling started.

Great point.

Sounds like we should be done here.

This happens everywhere. Why do I care if it also happened at LSU in a women’s basketball game? Moving on.

Interesting article. Indeed this has been going for a few years for some LSU teams. Notice the Miami team standing up in 2023.

The March Madness organization/ncaa more than likely has Teams/schools standing up for the National anthem.

I look up a couple news sites and it says that LSU WB Team did not attend or stand for the national anthem?’ " one user online wrote
These devoted fans are just finding out the same way you did.

I never make into the stadium for the anthem. I barely make it in for the first possession.

Why do you hate America?

More important, why does he hate the Coogs?

Honestly not making it to your seats before tip is the most coog thing ever. :joy:

Absolutely, if it hadn’t been reported, no one would have even noticed or cared. In fact, this thread is likely the most attention anyone on Coogfans has paid to the LSU women’s basketball team ever.

There will be a new outrage next week for people to distract themselves with.

That is your opinion and I love it that you can express it.

But you don’t like when others express their opinions, cause you flag what you don’t like. Am I right?

Same here, but I stop what I’m doing and place my hand over my heart. Is that so hard?

Lookit, if the teams by custom don’t come out until after the National Anthem is played, I see no reason to change it. If they DO come out as a matter of course, but one team refuses to do so, they’ve no one to blame but themselves for the undesirable attention.

This is still a brain dead take. Each team has their own routine before a game that it’s almost a ritual. You’re saying that a team should not only be aware but also completely upend that routine because their opponents choose to do something different? And if they don’t they deserve to be criticized? Like cmon… can we at least try to be serious, rational people and not knee jerk reactionaries?

uh mens team stays in the locker room during the anthem. If it was me it would be required to stand hand over heart.

that is not new. Football has never been on the field at anthem. For basketball they were on the court at anthem until a few years ago.
