I streamed in “Marty Supreme” this weekend, and surprisingly, found it to be VERY entertaining. Tim Chalamet was perfect for the role. Unlike Dune, where I think he was a bit miscast, he plays this part to perfection. Check it out if you haven’t seen it yet.
My wife liked it. I tuned it out
I liked Marty Supreme and Dune. And I agree about TC being miscast in Dune
Marty Supreme sucked IMO……just redundant and very predictable ending.

Better casting?
An actor like Chris Hemsworth would have been better cast in the role of Paul Atreides.
In the novel, that character is a Warrior Messiah.
Not a slight, effeminate guy like Chalamet.
I didn’t think it was redundant.
Lots of suspense actually.
Lol, this sounds nothing like Hemsworth
Key Characteristics and DescriptionPhysical Appearance: Described as small for his fifteen years, with a thin, oval face, dark coal-colored hair, and green eyes. He has a “fine and disdainful nose” and inherits the dark, thick eyebrows of his family line
Also a character that gets to age 18 by Dune 2. Needed someone that looked young
The first one looks way closer to Chalsmet than Hemsworth
The second one looks more like Ragnar Lodbrook from Vikings.
Hell, Kyle McLaughlin in the original dune made a more convincing warrior messiah.
Here is the guy from the sci-fi channel miniseries

Neither of them look anything like Chalamet and both were much more convincing in the role.
Dust Bunny on HBOMax is pretty great.
Stars Mads Mikkelsen & Sigourney Weaver.
A kind of hybrid of “The Professional”, Wes Anderson, and Guillermo Del Toro type horror.
Feel good ending.
Neither look the appropriate age for the role
I’ve been waiting on the wife to watch that one. Mads always delivers
He’s fantastic as always.
A 15 year old wouldn’t be believable as a warrior messiah.
Likewise, a guy as effeminate as Chalamet wasn’t really believable.
The other two actors to play that role were better fits in that regard, and Hemsworth, if you dyed his hair, would fit the role even better.
Chalamet is a great actor. I thought he was outstanding in “Ladybird,” “Little Women,” “Willy Wonka,” and “Marty Supreme.”
He was well suited to THOSE roles.
But to play a Warrior Messiah…no.
Who’s power is “the voice”
He’s not the brute you envision
He has to be enough of a brute to beat up the Harkonen bad guy.
No, Paul Atreides did not win simply through brute force. His victory, particularly in the final duel against Feyd-Rautha in Dune: Part Two, was a combination of calculated foresight, specialized training, and strategic sacrifice
Maybe at the very end of the duel, but he still has to fight hand to hand against another brute until that point.
