LOL
I expect him to be focused back on running TSLA, etc. shortly. Shareholders will demand it.
I thin he has done irreparable harm to the brand.
Lots of bad press out there now on the brand on many fronts. And bunch of
real competitive options available. Iām not even sure swapping out Musk can save the brand. IMHO they waited too long. The cybertruck is doing worse than the Ford Edsel at this point.
His arrogance betrayed him once more.
āI do zero market research whatsoever.ā
Elon Musk, November 2019
Iām confused if Tesla is still planning a cheaper $30k car or not. There are Musk
statements out there that it would be āstupidā to offer that and analyst that believe
itās to be a real thing in 6 months. Musk says things to keep the interest up I guess;
he has a history of badly missed delivery dates on many things.
The electric vehicle maker reported revenue of $19.34 billion compared to forecasts of $21.43 billion. Earnings per share were $0.12, versus analystsā estimates of $0.33. The company also said itās backing away from its 2025 growth forecast.
2025 will not be an easy road for Tesla.
Finally what people will want. Maybe should have gone with a 2 door hatchback but at $20k it should sell like gangbusters.
Another article on the Slate truck.
No paint or radio also. Maybe even lower miles on a charge. Very very basic. Big enough bed for sheets of plywood though. Sounds more like something for overseas and not the US market. Then again some people bought Datsun pickups back in the day
I donāt see this basic mini EV truck selling well here, but thatās just
my opinion. Crank windows are a real throw back.
I still drive my 2002 Nissan Frontier Crew long bed. 5 speed manual and crank windows. The less electric stuff the better
They should have gone all out in making it cheaper. Why not put a standard radio slot and standard speaker size holes? Or make the headlight the standard round or square ones. Reading about it, the most popular option will be the SUV conversion.
I think the bigger battery to increase range from standard 150 to 240 miles would be most popular option; maybe thatās part of the SUV option. There is probably a niche market for a small company with local routes where
it could work. But Iām doubtful it would ever have annual sales over 20,000 units/ year here.
The Amazon electric van is made by Rivian with a 250 mi limit
Unfamiliar with that product, but apparently Amazon has 20,000 EV vans in their fleet, and Rivian is to deliver 100,000 by 2030 per video.
All over my neighborhood
Mine too.
Hereās the Slate SUV. BTW did you know Slate is an anagram for Tesla? Because ex-Tesla guys started it.
Iām getting Bronco vibes. If that top comes off, that will sell like hotcakes.
