Doubt if many Americans could name the CEO at Ford,GM, Toyota, VW, etc.
Tesla on the other hand has a well known part time CEO that is very unfavorable.
I can accept the article’s explanation on Ford’s problems pending any other
data.
Good, awesome that it won’t be sold in the U.S. I can’t remember if the E.U. is letting them selling their vehicle. Stellantis and vw are not doing great.
Anyone here use or know a lot about Electrify America?
VW EV seems to be doing fine. Won’t comment on Stellantis though.
What are you seeing negative about VW in EU ?
Is the distant 2nd best charging network to the Tesla network. Less frequent spots and not very well maintained do yourself a solid and buy a Tesla adapter
Uh oh. Elon haters will post some arcane article blasting your post.
I have no love for Elon, but I also sometimes have give voice to a pragmatic solution every once in a while.
It’s certainly something to evaluate. Thanks!
Why do you love Elon so much?
Because it pisses off the brainwashed.
There are so many things wrong with that statement, imho.
But as I’ve said numerous times here for which you continue to ignore
Elon is largely the reason why EVs as an industry have been unable to scale
I’ve been on this thread since the beginning. Long enough that I had to defend EVs from the righters and now from the lefters. If you dotes think I’m doing this because of political views read the whole thread. The new haters are no different from 51.
It has more to do with the high transition cost from and ICE to EV factory. Ron Baron talked about that being Tesla’s biggest advantage.
This is from Ron several years ago
Using GM as an example, he said that in order to compete in the electric vehicle market, you need to secure a strong battery supply chain, like Tesla with the Gigafactory. He then explained that it would be extremely difficult for someone like GM CEO Mary Barra, a 54-year-old executive at the prime of her career, to go to her board and propose a $5 billion investment in a battery factory that will ultimately make all the company’s internal combustion engine plants obsolete.
Please explain.
But that’s precisely what transpired from a 2022 article. Actually looks like $6.6 - 7.1
billion investment.
- “GM said Tuesday it will spend $2.6 billion to build a new battery factory in the Lansing area and $4 billion to convert its existing factory in Orion Township to make electric pickups. It will also spend about half a billion dollars to make upgrades to its two existing vehicle assembly plants in Lansing.” – Detroit Free Press, January 24, 2022
Tesla does not require near the same amount of subsidies that other automakers need in order to scale their EV operations
In order for Tesla to remain the largest market share for EVs, it has to lobby to keep subsidies not too high not too low. Otherwise, Elon’s net worth would significantly decline if other makers gained traction
Though I will say that I doubt he expected the BBB to come to existence, which is anti electric anything
To scale EVs in America, you need significant subsidies because this country will never accept public transit which is why EVs are partially easier to scale in other countries. Automobiles in America mean much more than just transportation
That’s some convoluted thought process right there.
Convoluted in what sense
If you’re going to argue against what I say, then you have to explain why
I am happy to admit I’m wrong in any discussion if I can be proven so
