My Terrible Opinions on Our Big Men

McFarland is cat quick. Will pass Francis next year in down the court quickness. He doesn’t run like a big man, more like a guard. Although I haven’t seen him dribble in the open court. I always get the impression that big guys run in a way that protects their knees. McFarland doesn’t do that. Should be a major component of him being able to double team as well as get off the pick to the basket.

Disclaimer: the only real video I’ve seen of McFarland was about 30lbs lighter.

I’ll let coach decide who gets what PT, but this would be a nice scenario for another run next year.

C- Francis / Tugler / McFarland
PF - Roberts / Tugler / Arceneaux
SF - Sharp / Arceneaux / Walker
SG - Cryer / Sharp / Walker / Wilson
PG - Transfer / Cryer / Jefferson / Wilson
Redshirts – Miller, McCarty
Gone – Shead, Dunn, Lath, Elvin
PWO – PF/C

I don’t believe you or know if you are just being sarcastic. Either way, unless I see it in print from a reputable source, I will put it down as BS. BTW, the day he committed to UH he sigd that Sampson was going to redshirt him and develop him. He was a HS 4 star.

Francis will be a senior next season and we need senior leadership; he isn’t going anywhere.

I agree overall, but I guess I’d clap back with this. We had a blue chip 1 and done big man in Jarace Walker. He was supposed to be it. And while he was good, I don’t think he greatly affected our March story.

McF is a 4/3, not a 5. It’s what makes him so intriguing and potentially dangerous. Pair him with any of Francis, Tugler, Lath (and dare I say Roberts) and we should be cooking. Good stretch 4s are hard to find.

Too much pub, I’d be shocked if that happened.

Oh, I’m always sarcastic. This one though combines the sarcasm of people taking about MacFarland being near the portal based completely on conjecture which is honestly possibly harmful to the program to put out into the Internet with my full-time sarcasm about Arkansas constantly portalling. It’s so stupid I had to print it

No one should mention MacFarland in the portal. Honestly unless you want to manifest it. I’m included in this with my post but I couldn’t help myself but laugh at the stupidity.

I liked it until I counted bodies and we can’t have that many.

Depends on the offseason and if Mercy works his way on to the floor. We definitely need a veteran point guard from the portal. I don’t see coach burning a redshirt because of hype and if all Mercy is going to get is garbage time it’s probably best he stay redshirted.

One of the reasons I think the transfer guards are gone

I dropped 3 and added 3. Not sure if some are on partial scholarships.

Edit: Is Lath a PWO?

If Tugler didn’t get hurt I believe he would have played more minutes than Francis at end of season and in the tournament. Francis and Lath offer zero on the offensive end. I can see Sampson trying to get a big man in the portal better than Francis.

I don’t buy all of this, "we need a veteran PG from the portal’ stuff. We have had great freshmen PGs before. I recall Alvin Franklin took us to the Final Four and wasn’t Galen a 4 year PG? I’[m just going to wait and see who CKS puts out there; it could be Jefferson or someone else on the current roster. Or it could be someone from the portal. I will wait and see; which is really all we can do.

Close. His name was Terry Kirkpartrick.

For all the greatness of CGVL, he went to 5 final fours in a span of almost 3 decades decades. CKS has barely finished one decade. Of course, he does not have two decades barely one more maybe.

The fonde ain’t the fonde anymore - inner city ball as a whole has struggled which meant your pick up games have went down a level - but kids barely play outside anyway

No lath is a scholarship athlete

I may have counted a player twice since you had them in multiple spots.
