You’re being nonsensical. Abbreviated word salad.
“Success”. To people who have little understanding outside of a cheap, fleeting thrill. Got it.

Bussey, quit being such a hater. It’s gettold.
Don’t we use “For the City” at UH?
Pour some ranch on it.
People know our colors are red and white. They also know that we wore these throwback alternates for a specific reason and based on all the positive feedback from talking heads and social media will associate UH with being cool and innovative. This is what we call a win-win. You’re trying to find a cloud for a silver- lining.
Something positive about UH from Tech podcasters? Interesting.
I have substantially more design and athletics marketing experience than one who would think a titillating fairy costume has any value over traditional, brand-name recognition.
List the traditional football powers who engage in this foolishness.
Because people got a woodie.
We’re not a traditional football power. You’re comparing apples and oranges.
The reason being?
We are not a traditional football power. It’s pretty liberating.
Don’t ever aspire. Just wear Cougar High on your sleeve.
Innovative marketing. People I know who hardly ever talk Coogs were talking about it. It even generated new posters here.
You make it sound like we’re changing our school colors forever, it was ONE GAME!
People outside of UH liked it. If you didnt, you’re in the minority.
The majority of negative comments come from snarky Titan fans who are totally ignorant of Oiler history. Their condescending quips only reinforce their unspoken acknowledgment that they tried to steal Houston’s history and have not created their own.
Wearing alternates isn’t one of those reasons. But if you want an answer:
The relatively late start in fielding a football program. A history of largely mediocre and mid results. Relegated from a major conference for 3 decades.
All the more reason, although a flawed premise in some respects, to act skeered of being yourself.
How does wearing alternates prevent us from aspiring? Hope you stretched thoroughly before reaching and grasping at those straws.
By being yourself snd saying in your face this is who we are. We’re not wearing gaudy crap that is not who we are.
