Next Head Coach

I have been hesitant to call out the AD. However, if next year plays out like I expect it to - a DISASTER and likely bottom 3 finish in the Big 12, whatever contract Whitting is signed to will have to be bought out and it will be entirely on Pezman.

It is extremely disappointing to me that our leadership appears to be the only ones who do not recognize that a change at the top is needed.

There are even ex teammates and ex players that want him removed….total clown show.

Better throw some serious $$$ at Frank Anderson…Big 12 now, all about $$$ at this stage for Frank I would think…pad that nest egg.

I would offer him more than TW and if he doesn’t like then see ya.

But they will never do anything like that of course…

WBB, Softball and Baseball all needed coaching changes….looks like not one of them will happen.

But he extended the football coach when he didn’t need to….I don’t think he gets how this works.

We all love Todd, but it is time for a change. There is no reason with the resources he has to be this long without a tournament birth.

From what I understand, the incoming recruiting class is highly regarded. There is a very good hungry recruiter in Kivett that is a big plus for the staff.

The Houston recruiting scene is going to get easier as the Wildcatters and Banditos organizations are consolidating the upper tier talent. Of course the Wildcatters owner is heavily involved with the Univ. of Texas but it will be important to build relationships with that organization as it continues to grow. If the staff can create a pipeline there heading into the Big 12, it could be a gamechanger.

A complete overhaul of the staff heading into the Big12 creates a lot of uncertainty and I bet this is the shortest path to get back to the postseason.

I do not write much on the board, but have been a season ticket holder that has dropped his tickets over the past few years.

I also think we need a change or Whittings better find a winner of a pitching coach who can recruit and develop talent. I like Kivett. He has done a great job with the hitters and sounds like he is making inroads on the recruiting trail.

I had season tickets for yrs and also saw many games on the road. It’s flat out PATHETIC how low this program has gotten. TW should have been shown the door two yrs ago. It’s about results and what makes it even more PATHETIC is UH is right in the middle of the the biggest recruiting area in the country for D1 players.

If Pez doesn’t give a rats __ __ __ about the program why should I? I haven’t been to a game the past two years nor will I until he’s gone.

If it were up to me I’d hire Sean Allen and throw some major $$ at Frank Anderson to be the pitching coach.

TW has this fundraiser going on for charity, any thoughts that pez is letting him see that through before making a change

I think either the HC goes or the AD goes.
This is becoming a clown show in some of our teams.

This is possible. There may also be some serious consideration for promoting Kivett and letting him run with it. That’s risky, but with probably more upside than the status quo.

I need help understanding this. Are they giving him a free pass next year considering it’s the first in the B12? The schedule will no doubt be tougher.

His contract expires soon. Since it hasn’t been renewed by now, I don’t think it will. Maybe they are waiting for it to expire so there won’t be any payouts?

I think July 31 is the contract expiration date. If there’s no intention to extend, pay him his last two months’ salary and make a move for the future.

Wichita St. fired their coach, along with the whole staff, even though he was the Coach of the Year in the AAC. At least they understand that you get what you pay for. Houston is going the cheap way!

He is going to keep his job and they will extend him. You are grasping at straws!

I just love how people are losing their mind over something that hasn’t happened yet. It’s like my wife yelling at me about something I haven’t done yet.

What hasn’t happened yet? He is keeping his job. It is a done deal.

What makes you say that? I noted that his contract extends through July, and he hasn’t been extended, which is pretty extraordinary.

What part of that is “grasping at straws?”

I didn’t realize that? I thought it was just speculation on this board. Did he sign a new contract?

it has been reported by D1Baseball.com and the Houston Chronicle. He was given the chance to fire Bunn and keep his job or lose his job. Obviously, he chose to fire Bunn so he could keep his job. I don’t think a contract has been signed at this point but one will be forthcoming.

There was a tweet/article that came out that said he was expected back….

Plus any time an assistant is fired first it means he is sacrificed and head guy gets a new pitching coach and keeps his job.

And no descent pitching coach will take the job unless the head coach is extended….so yes he will be back.

Baseball
Softball
WBB

Pez has allowed them all to go down the crapper on his watch.
