Same issue as Rice and admissions.
You think he’s in cahoots with CDH? Pez seems to ignore coogfans.
It’s a head scratcher for sure. Sean Allen could turn the program around in very short order but looks like we’re “damn the torpedo’s, full steam ahead”
Bringing in the right pitching coach is going to be paramount. Frank Anderson isn’t coming back. It’s imperative a legit pitching coach comes in. Will the money be there to get the highest quality PC possible?
Even if there wasn’t a fast turnaround, we would have at least TRIED to get there. This acceptance of mediocrity is a program killer.
I don’t think it’s a case of the AD not paying attention or whatever - this has to be an issue with a major donor.
That’s unlikely. What quality pitching coach would want to come to a program with HC clearly on the hot seat? Pez is dropping the ball on this one.
And I’m telling you, even if the gone him a three year contract….if we are just flat out embarrassed he will get fired.
That buyout has got to be EXTREMELY small…They have TW by the balls…what’s he gonna do, say no?
He should not even have a job period so he has ZERO bargaining power.
Maybe we’ll get lucky and when all the terms are presented he’ll perceive it as a slap in the face and walk away.
We all know Pez has screwed this whole deal up…right, the ol’ monkey
and the football
.
But he better play hardball on this contract….he all ready screwed up DH’s by giving an extension when it was not necessary.
Pez ought to play hardball on the contract but I doubt it’ll be as onerous as we all want. I also doubt that there will be much funding for a pitching coach beyond what they paid this year.
The B12 is gonna make him better

Unfortunately, we can be better and still not be competitive. ![]()
I take it that that was sarcasm?
Yes😥
I don’t see Pez spending big money to get a really good pitching coach while he has a lame duck head man.
I’d like to be this abysmally poor at my job and get extensions.
Kyle Ayers and Travis Phelps have entered the portal.
Ayers: 5.74 ERA (4-1) 47 IP; 53 Ks but 32 BB and 3 HBP
Phelps: 3.60 ERA (1-0) 5.0 IP; 6 Ks but 3 BB and 3 HBP. Only 5 IP all year must’ve been frustrating. Was at Angelina and Galveston College previous three years. I assume he found a better situation. High K to IP ratio in Juco.
Phelps tore his elbow up, one of many under Bunn, and had to have Tommy John. I guess he thinks that whatever program recruited him last year will come through.
One of many more in his career hopefully.
The Big 12 is going to give his supporters a huge dose of reality. They are about to see how all these wins were playing crap teams OOC and winning against teams in a horrible conference.
