Here’s a ranking of top NIL collectives.
UT and aTm are both in the Top Ten.
Again, we are not.

Same thing was happening with the ut football game. All kinds of UH alum were rooting for ut because their kids went there, parents went there, seconds cousins granddad was a professor there.
Any possible reason to jump on that bandwagon.
Only by you…due to their failed collective.
I haven’t seen a single Texas A&M NIL commercial in Houston while UH has tons of NIL deals in Houston …Look Around!
The money numbers don’t lie Bro.
Our NIL numbers are NOT high, regardless of how many local ads you may have seen.
I sure hope others don’t listen to this nonsense defeatism your spouting off. Nothing is static in the universe nothing. Things can change. UT & A&M were born on on home plate, we got now a chance to bat our way into it
That be only seen one commercial for a law firm that had anything to do with UH and I don’t even know if that was NIL since the players shown weren’t identified and could have simply been actors.
And I have my tv on all day in the background.
How is it defeatist to say that there can be a hundred advertisements with UH athletes but our number is still 1.5 million
It’s like napalm, it’s smells bad and doesn’t rest on the ears easy. Unless you are one of those who like the smell of napalm in the morning?
That’s what irks me - the kids CHOSE A&M and we know there wasn’t much of an opposition- that’s their life so hope their butts are kicked
Here’s the thing.
It’s not defeatism.
It’s simply a statement of fact. Their NIL honeypot is way bigger than ours.
Could that change in the future?
Sure. And I hope it will.
But we haven’t seen it so far.
Tell you like that General said when the Chinese attacked the U.S. the press ask the General are we retreating? He said, “Hell no! we are attacking in a different direction”
They are advancing to the rear
Is how I remember that quote from history class but I imagine a Google search would find the exact wording
LAW…the way the Aggies used their NIL collective was stupid.
I don’t disagree there.
NIL agreements will get way more sophisticated and detailed as we move forward.
Less of these Wild West cash grabs
It depends entirely on what their reasoning is. If it’s academic then there’s not much argument that can be made.
If it’s for some other reason, then finding out why would help figure out if UH can become more of a draw.
And, sometimes, it doesn’t matter and the alumni’s kids will still choose to go elsewhere.
I brought my oldest to every game I could from when he was born until the beginning of high school and he chose another school because he wanted to get as far from the city of Houston while still paying in state tuition.
In his case, UH didn’t have a chance because it’s in the same city where he grew up.
Did he grow up “in Houston/ Inner Loop” or " in the suburbs"?
Huge difference
In Houston and not the suburbs which to me starts at Katy or sugar land or Kingwood or woodlands or Baytown.
I hear it from Aggies at work complaining about how the NIL deals backfired on them when they had the #1 recruiting class in 2022.
Now they are more cautious since a number from the 2022 class either transferred out or did not pan out to their expectations.
suburbs start outside the loop to me but definitely the beltway
Katy/ Woodlands are an exurb…not a suburb.
There are suburb buffers in between those cities and Houston
