From a scheme standpoint, CWF showed a single high safety look and dropped a guy to cover 2 high at the snap. It f’d with Rocco all night. We couldn’t get the ball downfield and consistently stuck in calls to do just that. Houstons defense had no problems rallying to our only check down underneath.
I think CWF can prepare a team. I think its more on the players, but your point is well taken.

Ironically, UH has about the same number of students living on campus as Iowa State (~9,000). Stick that in your commuter pipe and smoke it.

What a foolish thread!! Fritz inherited a complete mess and we were picked last by almost everyone! Quit acting like it is a surprise that we are as bad as we are…Our QB situation is so bad its almost impossible to win. But things will change next year. Tulane didnt win but a couple of games in Fritz’s first year there…All the whining is ridiculous. The thing Fritz needed to do when he got here was recruit, and he has done that very well. We will be considerably better next year.

IMHO I think it is easier to turn basketball around quicker than football. That is not a reflection on CKS! He has always been a great coach! I have talked to to several coaches who know CWF personally and professionally and think he will do a great job here!

It is immeasurably easier. And im a basketball first guy through and through.
But basketball is just easier from a numbers perspective. As few as 3 guys can win it all if they are good enough. Or at least get you in the ballpark.
NIL and transfer portal is a lot more cut and dry. You have a really good idea what your role will be before you sign up. Any decent football team is going to have at least 2 other guys at your position that have gotten the same sweet nothings whispered in their ear.
There is also the physical development aspect. Bigs often take longer in bball and command high dollar for it. You can plug and play elite guards day 1 and cover up a lot. Offensive line development is a slog. It takes time reps continutiy and a lot of physical development. Even an elite quarterback isn’t going to help you from his back or nowhere to go with the ball.

CKS turned the program into one that routinely hits #1 in the AP Poll.
CWF is currently running the worst offense in the P4 and we are in last place in the Big 12.
Being bowl eligible in year one is nowhere near the “get the #1 ranking” bar CKS has set.
I just want to see a team that looks like they belong on the field…and for half of our games, we did not have that team.
