Riley should have been fired last season. The major hurdle is his buyout. It is around $70M’s. Hopefully a rich donor will make that happen.
Ryley is another example of a great OC that did not translate at the higher level. USC had a fairly good recruiting class but USC should be on top every season. With bama they are at the top college program and biggest blue blood.
And as with any internet fan chat room, nothing they post has any bearing on the program or team. Nothing. So its funny to see that there are guys here saying stop the negative nellys. Why? Its a fan chat room. I’ve heard worse at the games. That’s what fans do.
Riley did really well at OU so don’t agree his skills didn’t translate to being a HC. Just look at how they’ve done since he left.
He hasn’t been nearly as successful at USC though. Definitely failing there for what they expected and do expect him to be fired or he will find a way to move on.
Not always true. Sometimes you really do come across people who have a good feel for what will happen. Again this specifically may just be wishful thinking but if nothing else the sentiment behind the wish is telling. I think one way or another Riley’s out after this year.
Yah I’d second this. He had a strong success at OU. If he were still churning out those kind of seasons at USC his seat wouldn’t be warm.
He did do well at Okie I give you that. He has been horrible at USC. He has had all of the resources given to him. He fired his assistants to keep his job with worst results. He is in the biggest football recruiting area and ucla is undefeated? Riley given the tools that he has he should be on top of the big10. He has not been close to it. That is on him.
He’s been a massive disappointment at USC.
Almost as big of a disappointment as his bbq. Almost.
USC has been a hype-machine. Absent the Pete Carroll years (nearly 20 years ago), they’ve been mostly a non-factor since the 70s.
UCLA being undefeated certainly adds insult to injury. Crazy to think they may make the playoffs before USC.
Agree, not much there.
They were just a bit too early on Kiffin and Sarkasian. They still had some demons to work out after they got there.
USC wants him out. His biggest win this year is Washington. Huskies are low mid at best. They just got rolled by the Badgers and he lost at home to the worst Oregon team in years.
Impressive, especially with the offense barely managing 48.4 points a game. How did that defense survive?
And their next 4 include a home game with Ohio State, a road game with Indiana, and a possibly undefeated UCLA team. His fate is virtually sealed.
Think he’s Washington bound…said it’s his dream job
The undefeated UCLA season will doom Riley. He cannot do that in 5 seasons while The Bruins do it out of nowhere.
He is buh-bye.
By the by Section 102 does not realize that The Aranda defense gave The LSU Offense extra possessions to score, as if they needed help.
The Defense complimented the Offense. Forced opponents to continually punt the ball back to Joe Burrow.
Which is what Baylor noticed. Which is why they hired Aranda.
I’m not saying Aranda was an incapable coordinator at LSU. I’m just saying giving him his flowers while being the D coordinator of the most prolific offense in the 21st century is t saying much.
Baylor thought it was.
Aranda is my D-coordinator in CollegeFootball27
