Having five ND grad cousins, ND v Stanford ain’t much of a rivalry. That game means nothing to most Domers.
ND v Miami seemed to be heating up as a rivalry in 70s and 80s, but quickly died. Only played a handful of times since 1990.
Not really a rivalry now.
USC v Texas? HUH???
NOT a rivalry. Only played 7 times in over 100+ years.
I’ve never heard of USC vs ND as a Rivalry. Stanford and ND are basically two schools tied to each other’s hip

Maybe not if you don’t know that ND v USC is a rivalry, or, even worse have “never heard” it. Gosh man. That’s one of the longest, best known, and most historic rivalries in college football!
Knute Rockne in the 1920s envisioned it as the first “intersectional” college football rivalry……and it has remained such for upwards of NINETY years!!!

Come on man. ND and Stanford have only played regularly since the late 90s.
WAAAAAY less history than ND v USC. ND and USC have played NINETY-THREE times. And that game often had national title implications. ND and Stanford, by comparison, have only played played 38 times, again, mostly since the late 1990s. Nowhere near as much history or tradition. Series is also far more one-sided in ND’s favor than the USC series.
You truly think USC and Texas are rivals??? When they only have seven meetings in over 100+ years of program history on each side?

good for ND for not bowing; if it doesn’t mean enough for usc to work to get a commitment from the b1o that they would work with ND. the heck with 'em; plenty of colleges would like an ND rivalry. if i were ucla, i’d be trying to sign ND up and rub it in usc fans faces !

I had no interest in following a school that refuses to join a conference and i say that as a Catholic.
I only seemed to watch ND when they played a school from the AAC or had some other connection to a school I care about but i can honestly say I’ve never watched ND vs USC play a single game
It didn’t affect the Cougars so not my interest.
And no…that post SW conference BCS era was a DARK era of college football for me

Army vs Navy
Oklahoma vs Texas
ND vs Stanford
Alabama vs Auburn

But ND vs USC isn’t on my radar…and apparently it’s no longer on anyone’s radar 
ND vs USC is the biggest rivalry in college football and has been for decades.

First for not having heard that one of the five biggest rivalries in college football (USC v ND) was even a rivalry.
And then for imagining that ND v Stanford was a bigger rivalry when it hasn’t even been one for but a few decades as opposed to nearly a century for ND v USC.
And then……worst of all….thinking that USC and UT were rivals when they’ve only met on the gridiron seven times compared to ND v USC’s NINETY-THREE meetings.

FINALLY…only now, due to the playoff field can i watch more of the other games
It has to do more with being a CFB fan.

I’ve even heard of the Red river Rivalry/ shoot out but again…i went to school when we were in the CUSA.
I didn’t care about the P5 back then because WE weren’t in it!
I never even watched the 2005 UT vs USC championship…that would have been torture
