OU @ UH in London?

Too bad.

It would’ve been a good idea. Now youre gonna play it at Reliant… whats the point. Atleast would’ve gotten a trip to london out of it. It would be good to get more fans worldwide. So when you do go to other countries people recognize your brand. The people arent big picture anymore. They just want to see a game.

Idk why it replied directly to you but that was general.

Not necessarily but I wouldn’t be surprised.

There are TWO reply buttons at the bottom of every post. People hit the “wrong” reply button, or the one opposite of the one intended and seem befuddled when it happens. This is not directed only to you, but in general, we see this same issue occuring over and over and over again.
TWO reply buttons, one specific to the post, one in general to the thread topic.

They are coming to tdecu what do you mean. It’s UH’s home game of the home and home series

The trip to London would have been a great thing. Simon Bott, legendary UH professor said that UH itself is loved the further out from Houston that you are, it was part of a reason he came here.

Why would they move it to Reliant? It’s a scheduled home game not an Advocare kick off game like the LSU matchup. Our fans have been vocal about playing these types of games on campus. Just like the Texas game, this should be a sellout. You don’t go and move it to London for a couple promotions on College Gameday.

Yes, the OU game will undoubtedly be a sell-out at TDECU but it’s likely a large number of UH season ticket holders will sell their ticket to the OU game to try to recoup the cost of their season tickets…and then another ~5,000 season tickets may be bought by OU alumni/fans who just want to attend that one game and then sell their other UH game tickets on one of a ticket resale sites.

So, it will be certainly be a full house for the OU game - probably ~65% UH fans vs ~35% OU fans. Then for the rest of the year, there will most likely not be nearly as many folks in the seats.

I don’t recall that happening when we played Texas. People wanted to be there. I know I sold some extras to a Cougar fan (one of my fraternity brothers) at cost though.

I remember a whole lot of orange at the UT game, my section was 75-85% orange, maybe I am miss remembering.

It would still be better than moving it to London, where the OU/UH split would probably be around 90/10% along with the local fans.

My section was pretty much the same people as every other game.

Mine too, 103 at the time

Yall must be on the southside, I sat on the northside chairback and my section did not sell out for season tickets so it was always popular with visiting fans, I have seen moved up to Queenie’s. Here is the northside before the half of the Texas game.

This is exactly why TDECU was built and Fertitta Center gutted and rebuilt, to host big time games. Coog fans are dying to upgrade the non-conference home opponents. If some Coog fans sell their tickets to the big time opponents it’s really disappointing but it shouldn’t stop us from hosting big games on-campus. I bet most Coog fans want to host these types of games on campus and not move them elsewhere.

You are the reason why we will have 40k UH fans screaming for us and not 10k sell their tickets to recoup money. We want this to happen? WE HAVE TO HOST THESE TEAMS AT HOME This is paramount. Thank you very much for posting.

My section is in that picture and is pretty solidly red. I see more orange in the upper deck which was above me. I don’t remember the UT fans being overwhelming on the concourse that game either. There were a lot but there also were a lot more Cougar fans at that game than other games so it just seemed like a regular big game mix.

Either way, I don’t think we had a lot of season ticket holders that actually use their tickets every game selling just to recoup the costs. That’s just my feeling though. I remember everyone wanting to be at that game.

That IS the visitor sideline… makes sense that it has majority Horn fans over there…

What’s the big deal? OU fans would probably outnumber UH fans @ TDECU. Play the game and get the TV exposure.

Stop it. No they won’t. If they didn’t outnumber us in Reliant, they won’t outnumber us in TDECU. UT didn’t outnumber us either.

All this CVS is out of control and the season hasn’t even started yet.
