If there were no guns, dude would have bought a samari sword and would have gone Pulp Fiction on that sawbones

And taken out 4 people ?
Come on now.

I never heard of a sword being referred to as the great equalizer.

I agree… Every weak a$$ person in America has the RIGHT to own a weapon to protect themselves… A fight/attack from a bigger person being one of those scenarios…

You can talk about curtailing that RIGHT… But as of this moment right now… They have the RIGHT to carry an equalizer.

To me it doesn’t seem like a equal response. You feel threatened therefore you can shoot to kill.

But here’s the thing…. Let’s say a woman, just getting off work, is walking to her car in parking lot at night…. She sees two guys walking towards so she puts hand in her purse where she has gun….

They come all the way to her and are about to grab her…. She pulls out gun shoots both and they wind up dead…. Best case scenario is they just rob her and take her car…. Worst case is they knock her out, take her somewhere to rape then kill her…. She does not know for a fact the worst case scenario happens but I think she is justified in shooting them both….
And I really don’t want to hear mom or grandma getting on tv to tell us what good boys they were.

I can’t tell, are you serious in that scenario the shooting was justified? Because they came at her they should be shot to death?

Yes, she is within a second of being attacked…. What should she do?

Shoot first ask questions later just like the police.
So is the scenario the same if its a guy instead of woman?
Does everbody get to kill because we’re afraid

Ok cool… I agree.

Sarcasm on my side. So ill ask does the scenario apply the same for guy at his car or is this only for women?

Ohh how do people defend themselves in England or Australia? Must be the rape capitols of the world. They don’t have the equalizer so the woman must be in constant fear of the scenario described

I would say if it is a guy that knows he will quickly be overpowered then yes.

Really not concerned with Australia or England, I live here…. But if it was my daughter, wife , absolutely shoot….

I don’t want to put words in your mouth or assume but are you saying if that was your wife, girlfriend, etc. and she was in that situation she should just take whatever abuse is about to happen and just hope she is not killed?

And now after re-reading your post regarding police I see your sarcasm.
My father was a cop killed in the line of duty…. So now that I see what you meant I do take offense….you seem to paint all cops with the same broad brush.

So, I’ll respectfully end my side of the conversation.

Great points for discussion.

Ignoring the RoW seems like a really weak position.

I have seen too many cases were a person said they felt threatened and i dont think a killing was justified. We are not pre cogs. Fear should not be an excuse and the gun means one bad move and a life is gone. Its too much powerful for people that live in fear.
Could you let your female family members live in England or Australia. Do they go everywhere today in America with a gun?

Respectfully, very sorry to hear of your loss.
A policeman has an incredibly hard job.
Peace.

I guess people shouldn’t put themselves im scenarios where they are threatening other people, or making that weaker person feel scared FOR THEIR LIFE.

This is literally why I’m so mich more level-headed in public than I was 20 years ago… You never know who has a gun… Period.
