Pallilo gone from 97.5

I really liked Anita, cancer was a sad ending for a lovely lady.

Today’s 610 Ron “The Show” Hughley is extremely irritating to me. He is always angry about something. Can he ever have an opinion without being angry? The program would be so much better with Wade Smith and Clint Stoerner. Hughley starts on his rants and I immediately switch to the A team on 790.

You spelled “troll” wrong

Palillo always spoke his viewpoint, which was his truth as he saw it or interpreted it.

When UH sucked, he was quick to express his displeasure in the program. When UH won, he was supportive, which is all you want in a local sportscaster.

Plain and simple, Palillo admired winners and had little patience with losers.

I was iffy on Stoerner at first but he won me over. I like his perspective as someone who really understands how an offense works. Same with Seth Payne when he gets into the details of a defense.

I talk about UH every single day.

CP always seemed to say “stadia” instead of stadiums. Sure they’re both grammatically acceptable, but just say stadiums… esp on sports radio.

Matt, you’re one of the great Coogs IMO but your radio show is very difficult to listen to last few years. For me, the constant UH bashing from Ross is BS and often get laughed it off make it really irritating and annoying to listen to. Maybe not by choice or whatever it is. Other than that, I loved everything else that you have done for UH and Rockets. Crocs on!!!

No loss

WAIT! ARE YOU THE REAL MATT THOMAS?? What are you doing on here with us lowly peons lol?

Anyway love your show Matt. I only wish you had done a bigger segment on our B-Ham bowl victory.

I don’t think for a second that’s MT, but I digress.
My apologies if yes, but nahhh, thk poster was being funny… jmo.

Rhodes Scholar doing Rhodes Scholar things.

Vanessa Richardson is smokin’. That alone will have me tuning in to listen.

I am a real Matt Thomas, but not that one!

That’s kinda what I thought, based on your response. I win :trophy:

Is Innes still on? Everyone at that station despised him. I think he had some type of altercation with one of the other broadcasters. Innes is King Richard.

Matt Thomas does talk about UH, but I put them i the "back handed complements " type of comments.

I do not think he is a genuine Coog.

He mockingly refers to us as the Harvard of Texas.

He started at North Texas, transferred to UH, met his wife at UH yet she’s a DIE HARD Duke fan.

I also get the sense he is genuinely happy his children did NOT attend the University of Houston.

Their choice but i just don’t put him in the genuine UH alum category and I listen to his show all the time.

Am I the only one on this site that hates the idea of assigning litmus tests to determine if fans have a genuine UH allegiance or a casual UH allegiance? We need all the fans we can get and not dissect the motivation and/or sincerity of each and every fan to expose their true collegiate commitment. The litmus test practice makes me want to scream.

I saw Josh Innes mentioned on here. There may not be anyone worse, more unprepared and over his head on a radio show in the country.

The fact some think Pallilo is so great is an example of how bad our sports radio is in this city. What I can say about CP is he is not a moron but still pretty much only knows about the hot topics.

I don’t doubt every other major city has better sports talk shows but, to me, unless it is about Houston, I don’t need to here any takes.

This is just not true. Ive listened to just about every national pundit in addition to every houston sports caster. Charlie is more knowledgeable(fact) and entertaining(opinion) than of all of them.

Charlie is knowledgeable, just extremely negative about Houston sports. I stopped listening to him when he was let go from 790, so I don’t know what he was like at his new place but I just always remember cringeing every time he spoke about Houston sports. It was like he was piercing Houston sports with a knife every time.
