Russian Three Star General CAPTURED in Ukraine

No one said you can’t bring your own opinions. That’s a strawman.

That said, your opinions may be disputed. Just like you dispute the opinions of others (often by attacking them). If you can’t handle your opinions being challenged, better to keep them to yourself.

Disputed? Did you write disputed? Then we read
“putin my hero”
putin’s propaganda etc…
Disputed is not that rtcoog. You know better than that.

Peace plan proposal for everybody,

Russia gets to keep Crimea, it’s bridge to there. Also gets some of the close in territories that it has full control over.
But it has to essentially purchase them from Ukraine/reparations for stealing it.

Ukraine in exchange for economic partnership with us, continues to EU membership, NATO doesn’t come off the table but let’s make it unlikely, finally to deter any further Eastern aggression Ukraine gets their nukes back.

Give me my f’n Nobel

I did write that.

You also told me to go back to history 101 so spare me the pity party. You aren’t a victim.

History 101 is about learning history.
Where did Russia come from?.
What did the West promised to Russia regarding NATO in the late 80’s and early 90’s.
How did putin, p.o.s. come to power after Yeltsin?
The Serbian/Yugoslav conflict, NATO’s role, UN role.
The Nord Stream pipeline.
The Crimean history.
All of it is relevant to today’s conflict.
When putin invaded Ukraine in 2022 what did the West do?
Basically nothing.
How long did it take to really arm Ukraine? We did aftet how long? By then almost 1/2 people died. You can’t go half way like we did. All politicians knew how putin, p.o.s. regards human life.
Today his economy is doing fine thanks to china. Oh yes we all want peace…

I know history plenty well. Russia hasn’t always been a great player in it either.

Anyway, be serious. You were attacking me. It’s fine. I can handle it. Just don’t play victim when others do the same to you.

Literal Kremlin talking points. No one who isn’t a quack, Russian stooge on Kremlin payroll or Putin himself actually believes that the Russian economy is “doing fine”. I’m sure that’s why Moscow is so eager and desperate to get the Western economic sanctions lifted.

Spare us with the personal insults. Got it?

If we were that serious with putting sanctions on Russia then why are we allowing China to buy Russian crude oil? Why?
If we were that serious with putting sanctions on Russia then why is Europe still buying crude oil from Russia?
Want more examples?

Are the personal insults in the room with us now?

The United States does not control China. That should be abundantly clear by now. Nor does it control Europe. That said, it is also abundantly clear that the economic sanctions levied on Russia due to its expansionistic aggression and war in Ukraine have had a greatly deleterious effect on the Russian economy. They are not doing well. This is not in dispute.

The point is the sanctions were to hurt the Russian economy which they have done. It is not to end all economic transactions between the West and Russia. That would be an embargo. Don’t conflate things.

Sanctions ≠ Embargo. Hope this helps.

Yes, could you point to where you see them?

The United States is currently the top supplier of crude oil to the European Union, having overtaken Russia in recent years. In December 2023, the US supplied 18% of the EU’s crude oil imports.

You let China buy crude oil from Russia?
You sanction China. That is as clear cut as that.
What do you think happen in WWII?
What did we do to the countries that did commerce with the nazi regime?
Hurt the Russian economy? If this was 1/2 true long ago Russia would have asked for a cease fire. Did they?

Sanctions can hurt an economy and not cause a country to give in. See Cuba, North Korea, Iran, Venezuela, etc.

Plenty of examples of this.

[insert insult here], this isn’t WWII.

Is it your contention that Russia is Nazi Germany and we should be tougher in our approach with them and their trading partners? You’re advocating in favor of escalating the conflict and widening the scope of active belligerents? That’s a very interesting take, Komrade. Especially when you were just previously carrying water for the opposite with Russian appeasement. The math is not mathing. Make up your mind.

Yeah, Russia (Putin really) is bad but I don’t think anyone here thinks they are nearly nazi germany bad.

Also, some seem to go back and forth on whether or not we should be the world policeman.

NO

That has nothing to do with the point of that post.

Haha they’re so bad that we should put sanctions on anyone that’s trading with them as well to make them give in but also we should give them what they want because they need a warm water port.

The whiplash is insane.
