SI: Texas Tech could pay out $55 Million NIL

I’m with the Tech fans on this one. No one is stopping any other school from doing the same.

Can add A&M and Ole Miss to the list on the college side. (though 2014 Ole Miss was before it was legal.)

Cynical part was half joke but I did not know that. Cool.

So now they get to tell all the Texas residents that went to UT or A&M that they are helping pay for LSU athletes. That might be what gets gambling passed in Texas.

I don’t see that happening with the current folks in charge…

Put another 5 million on the board… can’t tell if these Universities are racing to the bottom or the top anymore?

OT Felix Ojo, Texas Tech 5 big ones

Texas Tech is loaded at OL this season. They are bringing in three 4 :star: OL transfers. With Ojo, the rich get richer.

So we are still beating them, right?

You’re hilarious.

TT might have one of the best defenses in the B12 this year with all the new talent and new DC Shiel Wood.

Willie might, too…

For defense, They were second to last in both yards and points per game. I do not see them jumping up to near the top in the first year of a new DC.

If they made the jump Houston did under Wood, that would be significant.

I think Wood is a good DC with a very good track record. That said, he has either been under a defensive minded HC or co-DC every stop until TT. Interested in seeing how that goes this fall.

So how much is the UH NIL this year?

Texas Tech football landed a commitment from 2026 five-star offensive tackle Felix Ojo on Friday, securing him with a fully guaranteed, three-year, $5.1 million revenue-sharing deal—one of the largest in college football history.

Ojo, a 6-foot-7 standout from Texas, chose the Red Raiders over offers from Florida, Michigan, Ohio State, and Texas. His commitment marks Texas Tech’s highest-rated recruit since ESPN began tracking rankings in 2006.

Ojo, ranked No. 7 nationally by 247Sports and No. 20 in the ESPN 300, highlights the new era of direct athlete compensation following a major NCAA legal settlement. With his commitment, Texas Tech’s 2026 class now ranks 24th nationally. You can see the full rankings here.

Why can’t we get sugar daddies on par with Tech and Oregon?

Bucket two is fan fiction.

Maybe some our potential sugar daddies are more in touch with reality.
