SMU didn’t deserve a playoff spot!

Clemson is NOT that good. Neither was SMU. Also, I honestly think KSU was a victim of our weather. The humidity clearly had an impact on their guys. Dudes were cramping up left & right. Besides, they were up on us 19-10 going into the 4th quarter. Two late Ints were the reason we sealed that victory. It wasnt bc we just dominated a bad team. If we played them 3 times this year, we lose 2 of those games.

Adding SOS would mean less SEC vs. FCS games.

Clemson, Miami, and SMU were better than any B12 team minus maybe ASU this year, imo. I’m just not going to hype up these random B12 schools like KState and ISU. Wasn’t impressed by either. Hopefully the league is better next year. But more importantly hopefully we do better.

SMU beat the teams they were able to play.

All this garbage about not beating anyone is just that opinionated garbage. If you are a multimillionaire from successful sports betting, then maybe your opinion has merit.

Are only teams that beat an 11-1 team allowed in or is it you must beat a “name” team to get in? Guess what, then no one gets in. If a team wins on the field and not lose to .500 teams, then they did what they were supposed to.

Preston Stone only played the 1st two drives against BYU. Jennings played every other offensive down of that game and he threw 47% for 140 yds & just 38 rushing. You can’t discount the fact that BYU shut BOTH of their QBs down.

On top of that, SMU had already planned to play both guys going into the matchup. They had been splitting reps in both games prior to playing BYU.

ALSO, Stone was a 4 star recruit & returning starter from their AAC Championship winning squad. It’s not like they had some slouch starting against BYU so that excuse doesn’t fly.

SMU’s win over Louisville was better in most metrics than any win Indiana or Texas had. And it was also ND’s top win. Though ND played Louisville at home where as SMU went on the road to beat them. They definitely deserved the last spot. All of the SMU hate is short sighted. In the long run it would’ve been a dangerous precedent for B12 teams to see 11-2 ACC runner up get beat out by a 9-3 Bama team with multiple losses to mediocre teams including a blowout loss to OU in the second to last week of the season.

Clemson’s run defense is GARBAGE!! Hansen & Sama would embarrass Clemson’s d line

TCU had a much easier conference schedule than KSU tho.

I mean that’s your opinion. But at the end of the day they went 6-3 and KState went 5-4. And they have 4 shared wins so their schedules weren’t that different.

ISU got to play an old rival Big 12 kind of schedule, to satisfy their fans, but it ended up hurting them, schedule wise. ASU, Colorado and BYU had really good teams and they didnt play them, since they were recent adds… But they did play Kansas State and Baylor. and got wiped out in the CCG by ASU…

BYU beat SMU on the road! Shut down BOTH of their QBs. They also held their running game to just 3.3 ypc.

Also,

W-L: (10-2) BYU, (10-2) Miami
SOR: #12 BYU, #14 Miami
SOR: #44 BYU, #55 Miami
Best Win: BYU > #10 SMU, Miami > (9-3) Duke

ESPN’s own metrics point to BYU having the better resume. We’re talking about a Miami team that BARELY beat Cal by 1 point. You’ve been watching too much ESPN biased programming. Miami is NOT the juggernaut you think they are. Neither is Clemson

They just should’ve handled Kansas. I gave up on trying to vouch for them and BYU after they lost to them. ASU beat them and ended up in the playoffs. I think they ended up being the barometer in the B12 for who deserved to make it and who didn’t lol

That’s great. BYU lost to a 5-7 Kansas team. At home. That’s why they didn’t make it. H2H only matters so much. Its a 12 game schedule, not a 1 game.

Tennessee, who lost to unranked Arkansas, who lost to winless Oklahoma State

Shouldn’t Oklahoma State technically be in over SMU?

It’s over. First round is done. Arguing what and who should be in the CFP is a moot point. Plus adding OK ST (0-9 in conference, 3-9 overall)?!? Really? Just trying to stir the pot aka troll.

I actually tried to steer Bama fans towards Tennessee. MC had them as the worst at-large in the field. Wasn’t a shock to me that they got blown out.

When comparing both BYU & Miami’s resumes, BYU comes out on top in every category. Sure, they loss to Kansas, but KU was also a preseason favorite to win the Big 12 & reeled off 3 ranked wins in a row. They simply had a bad year, but they were not a team devoid of talent.

Unlike Miami, BYU had 2 ranked wins. One was a top 10, playoff team in SMU on the road! The other was KSU who was ranked all season long. Miami had ZERO ranked wins all year. By your logic, a bad loss outweighs a good win. If that’s the case, Notre Dame shouldn’t have been in the playoffs either right?

Yah I guess if you just ignore the Kansas loss then yah BYU had a better resume. Good stuff.

Where have I ignored the Kansas game? I literally gave you a head to head comparison of both BYU & Miami’s full resumes. BYU’s is simply better, EVEN WITH the Kansas loss.

You said their resume is better in every category. They clearly have a worse loss. Anyway it’s all good. Neither of us are changing our minds on the topic.
