Yep, those were the Feb 2023 renderings, which I thought just looked better in comparison
to the latest ones. All in the eye of the beholder.
But yeah, looking at SMU renderings it looks really good, fits in nicely , and well integrated into stadium imho. Ours looks more piecemeal, add on thing.
Sat in those seats once upon a time. I learned more about football viewing from there than I did in the previous 25 years of watching football from the sidelines. Also, back during or there abouts of Phi Slama Jama, I sat in similar seats in the Hof. Learned a lot about fast break basketball from there, too.
That was my experiment getting out of the sun 2 years ago. In the end I moved back to the north side. Great view but too high up, too many stairs and too far away from bathrooms and concessions! I guess Iâd rather sweat like a pig but be closer to the field!
The sun sets behind the scoreboard so the new seats would be âcoveredâ in that they will be in shade for most of the day. For those on the lower south, the expanded video board may help provide more shading earlier in the day.
I would have liked the ops building to be built taller and above the 2nd tier of seats on the East side. The lower south would have gotten shade much, much earlier in the day. But overall, given our stadium size and demand, itâs not a bad move.
I am curious if there is a lot of demand for club and premium seats in the end zone.
I have never been uncomfortable in the menâs rooms on the north side; it doesnât seem to be a pressing issue to me. It may be because itâs a relief from the overbearing heat in the stands.
Not to me, I can see the Houston skyline anytime I want. Itâs just something for some complainers to complain about. Times change, priorities change; we need to be adaptable.
Well as nice as a view of downtown might be, I donât think that we HAVE to have it.
If I had to choose between having thatâŠand having a stadium that makes us competitive for recruits in the Big 12 and the rest of the P5âŠthen itâs a no brainer.
