I felt that we played tired the last 10 mins of the game. Legs didn’t look like they had the same pop and shots were uncharacteristically off for many of the UH players.
The late Duke game may have taken too much out of us physically and emotionally.
There’s no way that play was supposed to draw 14 seconds off the clock before getting Sharp the ball either… bad execution.
Not just the shots, but the ball movement overall. The same exact thing happened to Auburn on Saturday; Florida started making a run and putting pressure on, and their opponent lost their composure and started making dumb decisions.
My last point is that this is not a bad play especially adding the context that Sampson told him to shot fake on a close out

With a shot fake, this would have been the look, a wide open 3, from a 41% shooter from 3 … I don’t know how you call this a bad play… it’s not the play, it was the player

Yeah, I think that was a well-defended play, boneheaded execution notwithstanding. Realistically, even wide open, Sharp probably isn’t making that with the way he was playing last night.
I just wish he would have done literally anything else there so we could have found out.

I’ll be honest guys I am 27 years old and this is the worst pain I have ever experienced as a sports fan.
I don’t think I’m ever going to get over this. I feel horrible for the players, coaches, and my dad. He’s been watching them all season and is such a huge Coog fan it made me cry to see him so sad
I didn’t even want to leave my bed today. It was a great season, almost the perfect season. But man this hurts… I just wish we took the final shot at least

I’d have lived better knowing we missed a game winner from a 41% shooter shooting a wide open shot… as one of those nights … than bad execution from our guys…

Yeah, Sharp’s only mistake was rushing the shot. He must have thought he had less time than he did. Honestly, as bad as it looked, he played that perfectly after he jumped. Immediately realized his mistake, slammed the ball down, and boxed out his defender. Maybe a turnover would have been better, but you never know.

You are a Coogfan. You will feel this many times again.
But this to me is not as bad as the Jordan Poole last second 3.
On a positive note - next year will be promising in basketball.
Football will be a growth year with many things to cheer about.
Idk man losing in the national championship is a different kind of pain than anything else I felt

I said that last night. Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I’d rather lose on a bizarre play like that than a crush-your-hopes-and-dreams last second buzzer beater. I already had my hopes tempered when Florida took the lead.
The only sports heartbreak I’ve ever had worse than this was the 2023 ALCS, and that’s because I had to hear the damn Rangers fans celebrating outside my window all night.

That Jordan Poole three was preparation. It set an expectation that. You can win, and you can very well lose too.
Anything is possible, no matter how well or how or how bad things are going.
I’m not heartbroken… we proved we can beat any team on any night with our run through the tourney and our program is one step closer to winning it all.
I hate that both halves were officiated differently and I hate that we didn’t execute that last play…
But for the 2nd time out of 3 opportunities the national championship came down to the last play of the game with our Coogs having a chance to win it all!!!
Championships are great… but getting to ride along with this program that CKS has resurrected is the real prize!!!

thats my takeaway as well and it kinda makes it hurt even more.
I still believe we are the best team in the country and should have won that game.
