I imagine most of us really want him to play for UH, but I’ve been burned too many times to bank on it. Maybe we will hit on this one, we have before.

Again. On RBs. I would be really surprised if we get anyone of substance. We just have too much returning. It’s a crowded room.

Texas A$M landed one of the top players in the portal in my book, the WR Concepcion from NC State. He’s as talented as there is as a WR and return man. Reminds me of Tank Dell.
Devonte Golden Nelson and the staff started communicating last night. Appears they offered today. Expecting a visit.

Few updates.
Josh Donald - should be in Houston on Saturday. Will see SMU on Thursday. Very possible he shuts it down and never makes it to our campus.
Tyshawn Wyatt should be here on Thursday. UVA has been trying to get him to shut it down. Don’t think he will before seeing us.
Sterling Porcher. Expecting him in by the weekend, at the latest. Would be a nice pickup.
Terry Webb is a new one with an offer out. From Galveston. Not sure if there will be a visit here, but one to monitor. I’m keeping eyes on Auburn.
Alex Bauman. The line is long. Staff is busting their butt to get him in this weekend. Will visit Miami Thursday.
Michael Coats. I think this one will be a tough pull. One year of eligibility. And we have ballers all over the secondary. Been working to get him on campus. Keeping eyes on his home state here.
Jadon Canady. Been quiet since he entered. Monitoring Miami with him.

Keionte Scott. Zac Etheridge connection. But see my note about Coats. 1 year of eligibility remaining. And ballers in the secondary. May want a guaranteed spot somewhere. Working to get him in on a visit.
Jyaire Brown. Staff is debating a visit. Not much production so far in his college career. As you can see, staff really has been prioritizing production over highly rated guys out of high school. Another name to monitor.
Tyler Onyedim is a new name that came across today. Potential Cooper replacement. Houston kid. Would make a ton of sense.
Tayden Barnes. Really trying to get him in this weekend. A ton of eligibility left and he is the highest on our secondary board.

I like putting a priority on players who are productive, rather than future potential. Productive players generally are good practice players who want to get better. There are many reasons for a player being unproductive and if you are recruiting that player, the coaching staff needs to sort out the reasons.

It’s why the portal is so valuable for those 3 star players with a chip on their shoulder….
If they were overlooked for whatever reason they have a chance to go to a “smaller” school, show what they can do….then if they like the place they stay or if they want to play on a bigger stage they have created that opportunity for themselves.
And for the 4 and 5 star guys that thought they just needed to show up at the Big Boy schools find themselves in the portal because they were shown the door….so now they have to talk a coach into buying into them and explaining why it didn’t work out….
