BAM!
I knew it.
BAM!
I knew it.
Seriously, how does this happen? How can a once proud and high-level competitive program fall to this? Seriously!
From my perspective it’s a combination of laziness and walking around with some sort of “air of superiority “ attitude that has rubbed showcase and high school coaches the wrong way……both related to recruiting….
I’ve never thought of him as a great or even good manager in game.
And once Frank and Trip left that was the beginning of the end.
It is well past time for TW to be gone.
I had some business dealings with an “associate” of CTW about 10 years ago. CTW even called him during a one-on-one meeting I had with him. The “associate” was king of the dbags. Can’t figure it out. When I had dealings with CTW in the early 2000’s he was as helpful, nice and down-to-earth as could be.
Why arent these on game changer? These are real stats lol. Woke up to a good laugh this morning - thanks!
From D1 Baseball’s “ouch” list. You see what they have to say about the pitching. Can’t pitch = can’t win.

Meanwhile, UCF swept Clemson on the road.
I mentioned it was key to go at least 6-2 over the next 8 games, which would give us a 7-5 record heading into the next 4 games against Sooner and Aggies. Make some noise in those 4 games and you are somewhat back on track and exciting the fan base.
Problem is, 3 games into that 8 game stretch the club is 1-2 with no signs of improvement on the mound. Must win the next 5.
Nevermind…
Is this a post copied from last year?
We should make a cigarette over the ear a trademark
I got raked through the coals when I criticized CTW and suggested he needed to go after the 2018 season. Not gloating because it’s at the expense of what was a very strong and proud program, but the bleeding needs to stop like…5 years ago.
Yep so did I. I stated that he wasn’t recruiting Houston area suburbia much. Esp in area where I live-- Cypress- CFISD. And this was 3-4 yrs ago as well. The hole is far too deep at this point imo. Just playing out the string I guess.
The second part of my response was responding to why the staff is pitching so many pitchers and giving some just a few batters to face. With the walks, runs and overall pitching performance to date, it’s a little more than obvious the team doesn’t have a very good feel for how this rotation is going to come together and thats not encouraging considering conference play begins in a month and winning conference is the only shot at post season. IMO, the wins vs losses total against weak competition in the next month comes in a distant second to finding a starting rotation and bullpen that can win upcoming conference series. It may or may not happen and team batting will need to improve also. With 20+ pitchers on the staff to evaluate and no clear aces at this time, I don’t envy the task ahead for CKB.
Wouldn’t programs give full rides to potential aces?
Baseball is one of the many “secondary” sports … very limited scholarships. A maximum of 11.7 scholarships can be divided between 27 players and each must receive at least a 25% ride. You are correct, a full ride would be a huge recruiting draw. If a program had the ability to fund a handful of scholarships via donors, (over and above the School permitted limit, it could be an immediate game changer. I shake my head at these 40 man rosters (back in my day we carried about 22-24); it would take quite the staff just to give instruction to size of a squad. But then again, I shake my head at the support staffs of the teams these days. If they’re all paid staff then the overhead is amazing.
Forget about it, our season is already dead, only hope AGAIN is to win conference tournament, don’t hold your breath, then be a 4 seed in some regional and get our butts kicked? No thanks, let’s just enjoy basketball season and move on to football next season
Is that a school limit or a NCAA limit?
It could be worse. Berkman’s HCU squad sitting at 0-8 being outscored 96-35. Just lost to Aggies 23-0 yesterday. I remember some (maybe even me) saying Berkman should get a coaching look here.
Ouch.
