Lagway was #4 on the list posted of top NIL earners, making a reported $3.8M. Since Lagway has made some NIL money, he needs to go to a school that fits his skill set that allows him to show what he can do.

Hammond may not even be recovered at the beginning of the season. And he hasn’t shown the ability to do much more than come in as a change of pace guy - when the other defense has a week or more to prepare, he’s looked barely mediocre. Tech is definitely not counting on him to be the guy next year.

Whoa, first big name QB to enter the portal…someone is gonna get a good QB.
Wouldn’t it be great for the league if he ended up at Arizona State or Oklahoma State?

Curious how things will shake out after bowl games, including for our own roster.
In this day and age, I’ve come to expect transfers announced prior to bowl games. It is a credit to the UH coaching staff and the players that UH has had very few announce their intent to transfer. Officially, the Transfer Portal opens January 2, 2026, but that hasn’t stopped players from announcing their intent to transfer from other schools.
Perhaps the UH players will play in the bowl game, one of the advantages of playing a national program like LSU, use the game to showcase their skills, and then announce their intent on January 2.

Awesome that Houston is in such a great spot under Willie Fritz that if former 5 star Lagway wanted to come home and play for Houston it’s pretty much a thanks but no thanks from us. That’d certainly be an eye opener for Lagway and his people to see doors like Houston being closed that up until recently would have been wide open for them. Even if he doesn’t want to come home and transfer to Houston, he has many connections to the staff and area and Houston being interested could have helped drive up the bidding war from others. Good luck to him

Without knowing why players quit, it is hard to judge them. There are many personal factors that may have entered into their decisions. I will just let them go and wish them well.
BTW, if some star player quit their team, entered the portal and Fritz signed them, would you hate them too? Hasn’t basically every player in the portal quit their previous team?

LSU might be a good place for Lagway to land.
He’d still be in the SEC, with a good, charismatic star coach & likely to start from day 1 next season.
Hammonds knee is shredded. Sorsby will be the guy next year.
Sorsby’s girlfriend is a volleyball player and just committed to Tech.
