I believe JD tried to get the NIL numbers but was turned down. And he caught grief for it.
Me? I’m weary of it all. It’s turned into pro sports with unlimited free agency. Great deal for the players and a new deal for me as my money now goes to other things.

I’m inclined to believe the player because the schools tend to do these kinds of things, But UNLV seems determined to throw him under the bus so I guess we shall see.

He was coming from Holy Cross. Highly doubtful he was fetching a bunch of 6 figure NIL offers. Seems real odd for UNLV to screw him out of 100k 3 games into a potential CFP season.
Their collective claims to have emails. Sluka’s camp has a claim of verbal promise. We’ll see

That kind of stuff can wreck a locker room, too. They’re going to be better off for him leaving.
The truth is probably somewhere in the middle - doubt he was promised $100K, but it was probably represented as more than moving expenses.

So the UNLV collective confirms the Sluka’s numbers exactly. Zero chance he came there for a $3K relocation and still negotiating for $12K after two months.

It confirmed the numbers they were paid and formally offered. Of course they are denying what they were promised. But it lends credibility to the Slukas because, as I said, zero chance they came there for what they got and simply got greedy as some allege.
Where is the 100k? They confirmed 3k and that the agent contacted them for more deals. The agent is a total noob btw

Stuka is s9lid and mentally tough. He can complete passes when they have to have them.
And he runs with toughness.
He was probably told he would get X amount and they gave him Y which did not equal X.
Maybe UNLV is repurposing funds to pay the MWC exit fees.
Anyone notice how he says he wishes his teammates the best of luck this season but doesn’t mention the coaches?

My take is that he was probably told ‘come here and we will get you 100K and if you do well and keep us winning it could end up being more but for now we can officially pay you 3K for your moving expenses through the NIL collective with the rest coming after you get here’. Someone did a good job selling that to him - probably one of the coaches, OC/QB coach, etc… that is why he is sour on the coaching staff. He probably got the agent after he was being told ‘no money is coming’ and wanted to get someone more ‘official’ involved on his side to see if they could get it done for him. In the end, a handshake or verbal is worthless. Put in on paper baby!!! It is all way too messy right now.
