Still not sure what a traditional student is in 2024.
Are you talking purely about students, or any fan? What Iâm trying to determine is, if a fan would be fired from their job for leaving work early to get to a game in time for a 6pm tip off, are you saying they should choose to get fired or else they donât really WANT to be at the game? This could also apply to students since a ton of students also work. Iâm trying to give you the benefit of the doubt, but itâs starting to sound like youâre just trolling.
I gave my tickets back to the ticket office and took my wife out for our anniversary. I did that because I would like to have another anniversary with her.
SolutionâŠget to work early, work through lunch, leave at 4 or 5 (if you work inside the loop/uptown) and allow yourself time to make it by tip off.
Itâs NOT hard if you really want to go!
We have 2 Conference games a week and only 1/2 of those are at home.
So AT MOST we have one workday 6 PM tip every few weeks.
1927⊠you donât live in Hou area do you?
Ok, Iâm going to conclude either youâre trolling or you donât know how half the work force operates. As you were.
YesâŠI live and work inside the loop.
Never had an issue getting to a game on time.
Ok ty. I thought you were on the East Coast. Sorry, someone else i guess.
I told my bosses I have a UH game to go to so im taking a half luch or coming in early to get my hours in to leave on time.
Theyâve never had an issue with it and YES i know about Houston traffic!
This thread has run its course. Just the same people arguing back and forth.
Ok enough. You canât possibly be this obtuse.
Next thing youâre gonna be telling people to get a new job if their boss doesnât let them accommodate for a UH game. Chill out, man.
All these hall monitors in here are making Coogfans really toxic
If people are having a meltdown in a season where weâve been a projected 1 seed since Christmas and have had a 6-1 stretch in the toughest conference in the land I can only imagine how bad its gonna get here if we happen to have a down year
My wife works at SMU. Is that a traditional campus? That campus isnât hopping 24/7 on weekdays but Greenville Ave across 75 and Uptown are hopping.
Dallas also complains about late arrivals.
SMU, TCU and Baylor all have 7k seat arenas. UT basically has an 11k seat arena. Last night for ISU they had 700 less than our game. All those empty seats! What are those 50k traditional students doing?
âŠand that is idiotic especially during the week.
I had intended on going. However, work went nuts at 4pm and I didnât look up until nearly 5:30. No way I was going to fight my way up from Mo City when the game was on TV and I anticipated a Christians vs Lions type game.
I was looking at schools on the East coast and plenty of them have 7pm EST kick off or at least 6:30. It is more than stupid on espn part.
Look at these tip off times:
Are we chop liver?
Come on manâŠwe have 250,000 Alums in the Houston metro.
Not every single alum needs to attend only enough for our capacity.
We only need 7,000 for basketball and 40,000 for Football.
You are an excuse machine.
That doesnât make sense. The game is sold out. And the people with tickets largely went there but were late.
It doesnât matter how many alumni we have. That doesnât help people get to a game on time. Their situations are all that matter.
And not everyone can just leave work when they want. You can, cool. You also work and live close. Itâs not the same for everyone.
