Which of these lost Houston Restaurants did you eat at?

The Hofbraugarten in Dickinson perhaps, but it closed many, many years ago

That’s it. I just couldn’t remember the name.

I used to work there in eighth grade as a busboy. Great German food and a little village with specialty shops.

Gaido’s on South Main

Yamin’s Pizza on Dacoma in the 70s. Parents would go there on Friday nites.

Stephen Yamin just recently passed away. Acquainted with him when he opened his first location on Hillcroft back in the early 70’s. My go-to was the guinea pig with cheese and extra jalapeños submarine sandwich. Loved that place….easy walk when the munchies took over. :sunglasses:

Speaking of Gaido’s, the restaurant in Galveston has really gone down hill. I’ve frequented the restaurant and the Pelican Club for over 50 years and I’m sad to report this, but it’s true. It’s expensive and the food was third rate on my last visit.

really sad to hear that.

Tuffys on the beach in Galveston in the early 70 s was a great place for seafood and bands

Home of some of the best bacon ever. Used to get a side order of it. TwoRows was our go to first Thursday of March madness for like 8 years

Yes!! Man that would be my spot on Wednesdays. They had $1 beers if I’m recalling correctly. Love their brick oven pizzas too. I think there is stilll one in the Dallas area.

Yes there is a Two Rows in Allen (next to Plano). Good pizza!

Not as good as Panjo’s. There is still one in Corpus. Talked to the owner.

Man I haven’t been to Cavatore’s in years. Need to get back over there.

I just ate there during a statewide prosecutor’s conference this past September, and I thought the food there was as delicious as ever!!!

Can’t beat the lobster bisque and stuffed shrimp!

I like the Shepard’s pie at mucky duck and you get to see amazing talent perform music.

As well as their scotch eggs and Mark Portugal sandwich.

Here’s a couple more that I miss, Mason Jar, the Courtyard, Steak & Ale, Strawberry Patch, Bellaire Broiler Burger, Dos Gringos, and I hate to say it because I enjoyed their sopapillas Pancho’s.
