Which of these lost Houston Restaurants did you eat at?

Zachary’s Cajun Cafe in Kingwood closed. They had great Cajun food , plenty of tvs for sports and live acoustic music on weekends when it wasn’t football season. It was my hangout so it sucks they are gone.

I went to Goodson’s when it was in the old shack with some musicians I hosted for a concert. They were nervous when they saw the place and totally stoked after we ate dinner.

Your right, Duchos was a quiet great restaurant. And by far the best bargain in town.

I’ll only add I used to love going the Farrell’s ice cream for birthday parties when I was a kid.

I read that all Luby’s are closing in August. Get it while you can.

Lots of disappointing closings. Fuddruckers and Lubys, hate to see it.

Pappas should’ve never touched that concept - Impacted their whole operations to where they even closed pappadeauxs and pappas restaurants

I remember enjoying Atchafalaya quite a bit back in the day. Not as authentic as Sonny’s Crazy Cajun in Seabrook…but still pretty good.

Not closed…living in Oregon, I miss T-Bone Tom’s in Kemah and Tortilla’s in La Porte.

The Mariner on FM 1960. Lyle Lovett was the bar singer.

Dirty’s Restaurant, on Durham. Chicken fried steak, tots, and cold beer. I was there on June 14, 1994 with my buds to watch the Rocket’s NBA Finals game 4 against the Knicks, when the network suddenly switched to the infamous O.J. Simpson car chase in L.A., while relagating the game to the tiny 1/4 split-screen view.

The Golden Bo off Gessner was my favorite Chinese Restaurant. It was “San Francisco Style”. After the restaurant closed for the evening, they would open a kind of snack bar with a cook working on whatever you wanted. Very much like Hong Kong.

Then some Hispanic night club opened in the strip and after a couple of gun fights the Bo closed

Old SF Steakhouse was our go to place for prom and homecoming dinners when I was in high school in the 1990’s. Great steaks. Sadly, Last time I ate there I got a terrible bout of food poisoning (1999) and it closed down after. Never got a chance to go back.

Growing up in the 70’s our family would routinely gather on weekends at Lee’s Den Chinese Restaurant on South Main. My first exposure to Chinese food and I was hooked!

Swiss Chalet, Rainbow Lodge, Farrel’s ice cream in the Galleria, Spanish Galleon
