Which of these lost Houston Restaurants did you eat at?

I went to a place called goodsons in tomball. They had some good chicken fried steak. Not sure if it’s still open. I haven’t been out there in years.

Hey, son, next time you are in town lets go to Frank’s Americana Grill on Westheimer. Pretty
good chicken fried steak with mash potatoes, cream gravy, collard greens, sometimes okra and tomatoes.

How could i forget Frank’s, they make great fried streak. Sounds like a plan

Ahh, Goodson’s Cafe. That place was legit.

Also, another place for good chicken fried steak was Luther’s BBQ (n/k/a Pappas BBQ).

The cinnamon rolls at Monument Inn are outstanding! Just thought I would throw that out there and the rest of the food is good too.

Cliftons by the sea in baycliff had the best cinnimon rolls

Hamburgers by Gourmet in Montrose
Two places on Telephone Rd: Ranger Drive-in (with dip fries) and TelWink Grill (apparently still open, though I haven’t eaten there in years).

Looks like a lot of restaurants come and go. This is the natural way of things.

Zackerys in Kingwood closed. It had Cajun food, big screen TVs for sports and live acoustic music on weekends.

This will open in spring of 2022 but no live music but it should be a good replacement for my area.

My wife, Patty, and her children and I are going to try the Fertita’s King Ranch Steakhouse tomorrow (pre-Father’s Day). Love to try new spots.

You will need to rob a bank first

For those considering a visit to the King Ranch Restaurant here are my impressions from las night:
The foyer is southwestern, lots of leather goods on display and for sale. The smell of leather abounds.
The menu is varied, steaks, bar b cue, some interesting chicken and fish dishes.
I had the bar b cue ribs and sausage. Never had any ribs that were so tender. The meat was succulent, tasty and literally fell off the bone. Others had steaks they said were good but not up the standards of the finer steak houses. Understandable since I found the prices reasonable. You should consider giving it a try.
